Bought a 91 cherokee to get me buy till I get the comanche done. Here is the pic from the add I'll get some better pics later in the week. Its a 4.0 5speed 4wd, 183k. No rust, 4.5 in lift, bushwacker flares, stupid wheels, and bald tires. I already ordered tires and wheels for it. Gonna lift it another 2in, and add an iron rock offroad 3link longarm kit (Not a big fan but for $300 can't pass it up) So far I have about $2400 wrapped up in it. Gonna wheel it till I get the comanche done and sell it probably.

I had a 94saab 900s as a dd before I bought my colorodo. It wasn't common (in my town at least), was great on gas, comfortable, roomy in both the front and back seats, quiet inside, good looking (in my opinion) and ran well for a NA 2.3. here's a pic of mine, original paint too.

Sold my old truck and bought this 91 2wd metric ton of my friend who decided to go back to a cherokee. He paid $1500 for the truck, did a complete tune up, 4 new speakers, cd player, and included an ax15,np 231, dual diaphram brake booster, new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for $1600. The only pics I have of it are from a jeep ride I decided to take it on for some reason. There is only one verysmall spot of of rust on the driverside rocker. The floors are great too. It runs and drives great, everything on it works and its inspected. This is a first for me. Future plans include. 4wd 5speed swap Wagoneer 44 front 7.5in T&T longarm kit. 4.88 gears and Lockers Bumpers sliders armor blah blah blah.

Looks like a good time. Looks like the lockers working good too. -
Small update. Got a set of RE drop brakets on the truck and adjustable upper and lower control arms. Got a new set of wheels to but I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep them or not. here's the most recent pic of it as it sits. Gotta sell my car then its going under the knife again. Never ends.

I love your truck. Just gave me a whole lot of ideas. Do you have any more info on the front bumper? Did you buy it somewhere or did you build it yourself?

Price seems alittle high for a bad trany and failed smog. Looks nice though.

That engine looks like a work of art. Wanna throw it in my truck till your paints done? -
What bellhousing can be used to mount an ax15 to a 2.5? I have heard of it being done I'm just not sure what all is involved it. Thanks.

Has anyone seen a steering setup like this? http://www.rocky-road.com/xjott.html Does it work well?

Found my rustfree sportruck sitting in a field in a foot of snow with a 4sale sign and a phone number. Gave him a call, offered him $350 and signed the title over. Truck sat for about a year so I wasn't counting on much. Gave it a jump and it fired right up. The tierod was bent and it needed a muffler and back brakes for inspection. Fixed that stuff and drove it for about 6months before ripping it apart for the 4wd swap. Also got my dad a 2000 grand cherokee limited 4.7 with 107k and a bad tcase for $800. Got an np 242 with 66k and driveshafts for $100.
-
Got some more done on the grand. Swapped out the input shafts and got the transfercase in so know we have the only 4.7 grand cherokee in the area with an np242 in it. We also looked over the front end and there was absolutely no play in the balljoints so I'm not sure what they where thinking when they said it needs balljoints. The transfercase works great and the 2wd is fun with the 4.7. Only a few more things and it will be ready to go.
-
Still didn't get pics of the jeep but did get something else. My dad found an np242 for a 99 wj with the driveshafts, shifter and centerconsole for $100. score.
-
Bought a 2000 wj limited yesterday at work. It was traded in on a new chevy. The sevice department looked it over and decided it was a piece of junk. Transfer case is bad, may need ball joints, and it needs tires. So I got a rustfree 2000 grand cherokee 4.7v8 with 107k and every single available option for $800. Gonna do a 231 conversion on the tcase and fix whatever else it needs and give it to my old man. He needs a nice jeep. I get some pics up soon.

anyone ever ran this kit exept on a comanche?
onebigmj replied to comanche13's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
A friend of mine has that kit on his xj. He just bought the first one he saw without doing any research. Its a pain in the @$$ to adjust and it doesn't work that well. You have to pay extra to get adjustable arms too , and alot of there components are just rough country . -
That truck is SWEET!!!

Should be 3.07 unless its been messed with. Is it as nice as it looks? What year is it?

ebay comanche in chicago area...what are they thinking?
onebigmj replied to dfreeman616's topic in The Pub
Unless they took those pictures with their eyes closed I'd say the rust is pretty visible. Other than the wheelwells, the rockers and the tailgate being shot and probably the floor theres no rust. No signs of an accident other than a banged up bumper and scraped up flare. At least they only want 4k for it  -
The mj has about 7in with short arms soa in the rear with 1.75in blocks, the xj has about 6 with an ironrock longarm on it with 4.5in leafs and a shackle. They both actually sit lower in the rear.

Well plans just changed. The kid decided that he doesn't want to sell me the parts. I'm not quite sure why but I'm hoping I can still get the 96 brake booster of him. It's not a huge deal and I'm sure he has his reasons. I think I'm going to go back to my original plan and put a 318 in it. I already have a line on one out of a 93 grand for $80. Also thanks 87mjeff for offering your advice. I really do appreciate it and sorry for wasting your time.
-
Yeah that has him. He was talking about getting different jeep anyway so its not to big a deal.
-
What about the frame horns needs to be changed? I was considering doing the renix swap because I have a truck with all the parts but I figured I'd give the H.O swap a shot.
-
Small update. I was talking about doing a 318 swap in my truck but another option just turned up. My friend just rolled his 96xj not one hour after we finished setting up the gears in the frontend so I get the 4.0h.o,ax15 np231 and all the asociated wiring, column, etc. and the dual diaphram brakes all in excellent working order. It will definetly be a project. Here are some pics of the jeep. I'm sure your all saying cut off the roof and cage it but the jeep is shot. A huge section of the unibody has already been replaced and the floors are gone. Gonna find a good body and throw the axles and longarms in it. Just started tearing it apart. I'll get some pics when I make some worthwhile progress.
