I'm going to have to put an exhaust manifold gasket in my truck pretty soon and was wondering if any companys made headers for an 87 2.5? If so is it worth getting? Thanks a lot.

85 XJ Rear Axle in a 90 MJ

The axles in the c clip rear slide have a bolt that threads into pin that slides through the carrier and a c shaped clip on each side that holds the shafts in. The non c clip rears axles ares bolted on. The non c clip is nice in that if you break a shaft the axle won't just slide out. Pretty much the only way to make the axle come out is if the wheel bearing goes bad. The non c clip can be easier to work on though. Personaly if I have to have a dana 35 I'd rather have a non c clip. -
Is there any difference between the 87 and the 89 2.5 other than the fact that ones rebuilt? Was it just a stock rebuild or is bored over and ported and polished and all that. How does it run I was thinking about rebuilding an engine for my 87?

Pull off the rubber bumpstop and there should be a nut under it. Sometimes you can thread the whole thing off with a pipe wrench. -

I found an 89 LWB comanche with a 4.0 5speed with 120k miles on it not to far from me. It has rust in the usual areas rockers wheel wells etc, but it doesn't run. He said about a couple mounths ago it wouldn't rev up then it lost spark all together. He told me to make an offer. Whats it worth and what could the problem be. here's some pics. Not good but you get the idea. Thanks in advance for any advice.

If its a 5speed 4.11. If its an auto or a 4speed 3.55. Also whats it like driving with a welded front end? -
Loose Steering w/popping noise

Check the small ujoints in the steering colunm shaft. I had an xj that did the same thing and those joints were bad. Also check the track bar mount on your frame. The bolts on my xj's backed out and it made the steering very loose. -
I am going to do a tune up on my 97 xj and I was thinking about cleaning the throttle body and run some fuel injector cleaner through it but I'm not sure if it needs it or if it makes any difference. Does it help at all.

I just bought it for $1500. No rust at all but the drivers side quarter panel needs replaced. 4.0 HO external slave Ax15 8.25. Pretty good combination.

I recently bought a 97 cherokee with a 4.0 and a 5speed. I'm going to regear it to either 4.10 or 4.56s with a 32in tire. Would 4.56s be to radical for something that gets driven every day? What rpms would it run in 5th gear at 65mph? Thanks in advanche for any advice

I have a 360 out of a dodge motorhome with 56k on it and was considering freshing it up and droping it in but my truck will be driven on the street alot and I'm considering fuelmileage. Would there be a big difference between a 360 and a 318 in mileage?

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there alot of xj's and mj's running around with chevy 350s in them without any problems?

I was going to put a 4.7 stroker together for my comanche but I started thinking about putting a nice 318 in it. I looked at the cost and the 318 will be a good bit cheaper than the 4.7 and nothing beats the sound of a V8. What do you guys think?

I have a 90 cherokee sport with 273k on the original engine and trany. And it probably has closer to 300k cause the odometer quit. Its my daily driver and trail rig and has never let me down. My dad had one with 357k on it and it still ran great. As long as it sounds good I wouldn't worry about it.

Ya I'm looking for an Ax15. The shame of it is I just had a really good Ax15 and sold it.
