  1. I like it
  2. Dragonriders of Pern! Thought that name sounded familiar. Talk about your " Blast from the Past".
  3. The Military had XJ's, and IIRC some MJ's, but they were painted that sickly mint green. :ack:
  4. Oh Mama!
  5. Wish I could join you guys, gotta make the physical therapy sessions . Take lots of pictures and such.
  6. I saw it listed on Fleabay. Looks like it's been well cared for.
  7. NOOOOOOOOOOO..... Those two cheap assed, cherry picking bastards don't deserve one bit of that collection.... A collection like that needs to go to people who honor the dedication and desire that it took to create it. AGREED! I'm not promoting those guys. I agree that they take advantage of people that don't realize what they have. What I was trying to say( probably inadequately) was that It would have been nice to have a video tour conducted by the old gent. Kind of like the old " On the Road " with Charles Kuralt.
  8. Well, I've never chased anybody down the road, but I've left a few cards on windshields . A few days ago when I came out of Wallyworld, there was a red mj parked next to mine. I know the truck, it belongs to the father-in-law of my partner at work. Has the bumper of my old 89 after I demoted it to Mill Transportation. Left him a card.
  9. Saw my first one when I was in Germany. AMC military sales had an 86. Beautiful black one,V-6. Almost bought it, but it got sold while I was on leave. Ordered an 87 swb 4.0 4x4 off-road package. Added delete stripes later, canceled order due to dispute with Chrysler over price increase. Settled for an 88 for the 87 price plus a free metalic paint job. Had an argument with a bridge abutment and lost, ended up in the middle of a divorce, picked up an 89, had to sell the 88 for lack of a place to keep it :wall:
  10. Holy Car Parts, Batman! Bet he would been one heck of a guy to talk to for a day or two. Would have made a great "American Pickers" episode, or just have a tour recorded for posterity. Hope everything finds a good home.
  11. Former movie and TV actor Fess Parker passed away yesterday at the age of 85. A real hero to those of us who remember his portrayals of Davey Crockett in the Disney films and Daniel Boone on TV in the '50's and '60's. Left acting and became an award winning vintner and successful business man in California. A wonderful person and a great American. :USAflag:
  12. Ya, we aren't as fortunate as you guys seem to be. $500 trucks, all you can carry for 50 bucks sales at the junk yards........
  13. Sounds good  . Ive got friends that work up in Scranton, but this gives me another reason to go up, besides going for a train ride. Maybe we can all get together for a mini pow wow, like Jeff said.
  14. There is another yard near Shoemakersville, haven't checked that one out though. New Ringold- north of Reading, about 8 mi. east of Pa.61.
  15. I can attest to what Pete said. When I was at Ft. Irwin in the 80's it was a common event. In 84( IIRC) our full Bird's jeep flipped. His driver was thrown clear, the Colonel didn't make it.
  16. Jeff, depending on when ya come up this way, we could make a road trip up that way. Could also hit EZ outside of New Ringold, they have 3 MJ's and a bunch of XJ's & ZJ's. I'm sidelined for a knee operation right now, but should be good to go by April. Shawn
  17. We still have several feet of that white crap outside, but I heard a "Hoot" whistle this morning coming across the fields from the Strasburg RR. Best thing I've heard since they ran during the Dec. storm.( Wish I could have seen it :fs1: ).
  18. A true Patriot and Hero. :USAflag: :Canadaflag:
  19. Usually buy Hess, would rather walk 10miles than use Citgo.
