i was thinking great subject for a convertible mj. like the dakotas. lol. since its there anyways. Alex
-
not sure but if you notice most of them seem to be selling them in the classifieds section. good luck on your hunt. Alex

i was going to get some TSLs but decided not to since the road would eat em. so i am going with some Maxxis Buckshots. from what i hear they work really well also. guess i will wait and see. then again my 86 had some Lemans A/T tires and did great while mud running through a swamp so idk. Alex

oh one more thing about the 2.8 to 3.4 swap. the 2.8 is externally balanced and the 3.4 is internally balanced. so you need to take the fly wheel and have it machined down or get a new one. I'm not even sure if that is the part you need to take or get. it has been awhile since i looked into the 3.4 swap. maybe someone else can correct me on that. Alex

i have plenty of rims. at least three sets. one set is the stock eliminator ones i will use fo trail tires and my canyons for street. just need tires. Alex
-
alright thanks anyways. if i can't get em ordered around here or find any i will look into some other ones and let you know. i am also looking at the Cooper Trailcutter M/Ts or even the Trailcutter M&S if i decide i don't want mud ones for some reason. Alex

yea some wire is crossed somewhere. seems like those bulbs are connected to your brake wire somewhere along the way now rather then just the turn signal wires. Alex

no. that is why i was told the buckshots would be good. i mud run whenever i have the chance, which is really whenever i feel since i live on a farm. and work is right down the road for me so road travel really is not that much that often. plus with winter coming up i figured mud ones would be good. then in the summer i will get a set of road only tires since i have two sets of rims. Alex

yep straight bolt in. some places online carry crate if you can't find an old jy one. Alex

31s are what i am looking for. 87manche said he was quoted $425 for 4 buckshots 31x10.5 out the door on the truck. can't seem to find anywhere in Ohio though that carries them. might have to special order them or something i guess. Alex

well my 91 was sitting outside today when the fridge repair guy came. and he said that he has an 89 2.5 manual 2wd MJ. i gave him a magnet and helped him out with a few of his questions today. wanted to know about the 4wd swap and the ford axles and rims. he said he would stop on by and check it out. i need new tires after blowing one out while mud running awhile back. finally have the money to get some. i am looking at the maxxis buckshots. only problem is, i am having a real hard time finding a place in Ohio that carries them. i am trying to get an idea for the prices from places for them. anyone from Ohio know where i can get/order a set of 4 and how much? i am in Bucyrus, Ohio 44820 or Marion, Ohio 43302. we have a few odd ball tire places in Bucyrus and NTB, Sears, Wal-mart and a few other places in Marion. but the closer the better. get a build sheet. Alex

the 3.4 is a good swap and i would also take the injection system from the donor car also. but my 2.8 i just bored out to a 3.2 and it worked well. might have been able to go a bit further too but idk. my 86 did great once i did that to it but the rear main didn't seal and i didn't want to mess with it. and the 4.0 might fit nice if you got lucky with a late year 86. just get a build sheet anf find out when your 86 was made. Alex

and it is NICE. lol. Alex

man i figured there was something wrong with the filter. i never figured there would be grass in it though. guess that might have caused the problem of it shuddering once in awhile. glad you got it figured out. hope thats all the problems it has given you so far. can't believe it hardly leaks on you anymore. glad its working well. the 91 is doing well other then minor things. the worst thing is that it wants premium to run at its best and that is getting old fast with prices this day and age. oh and my xplod got stolen out of it. Alex

yea and it sounds like you are being fired at when it back fires, unless that got fixed for ya. lol. Alex Nope, still backfires like a son of a if ya let off the gas quick, so I've learned to be a 2 foot driver, slowly let off the gas with the right and slowly press the brake with the left, plus this way I'm not reaching for the clutch. At least not as much as I used to be anyways. yea thats how i managed to get around the back firing problem. Alex
