  1. For those who want an AW4 but don't want to have to swap wiring. Check out this neat little toy :D http://www.awshifting.com/new.htm
  2. The back lash is good just about perfect actualy :D It's those silly spiders makeing the noises  All seems to be well inside , no strange wear patterns and no teeth missing or chipped
  3. I just put my factory front skid plate back on, seems it is a might bit close to the steering linkages . I would imagine that on road driving will be ok , But when I flex it offorad it might bind the steering? Is anyone here running the stock skid and about 4.5" of lift? does the steering hit the skid when flexed with the wheels turned at lock one way or the other? :?
  4. The bearings look fine I chnaged out one shaft from anothe D44 and from the same side. The Dana web site says both shafts are the same length, Same part number for both.
  5. After in stalling my MJ d44 I have noticed that is seems to be kinda noisey, I jacked it up and spun one of the rear tires by hand and noticed that I could here the spider gears just a clickin away. It is the same on both wheels ?. I had the diff opened up and everything looked fine. it had no eccessive play, no chips or bad wear, But still when I turn the rear wheels ( by hand ) and also when I am slowing down while drivin it . You will hear this clickin - :? anyone one have any idea what could cause this? By the way this is a Trac locl LS D44
  6. Nope, the DS is in so far that it bottomed out in the tcase. Of course that could be cause I also swapped in my MJ d44, I think it's a hair longer than the 35.
  7. So did getting the spring shakles to flip to the rear give you any grief? We had to pry mine back and lowwer the jack at the same time  Also I have about 3/4 of an inch of visible slip left on my Rear DS , when driveing it today I went over a railraod crossing and when the rear drooped on the other side the slip yoke smacked the tcase yoke
  8. Mine sat in ST Augustine FL near the beach for two+ years with a 2" High water line in the front floorbaord ( DS ) and it only has too small dime size holes . I still havent figured out why the floor wasn't gone , But I'm thankful it ain't :D
  9. Yup thats ma sweetey :D It is very clean and rust free for a 213,000 mile MJ
  10. The packs are $269.00 seperatly I don't know how much it would be to ship them seperatly , but it cost $105.00 to ship the whole kit.
  11. Well I got my MJ lifted today :D I used the rustys 4.5 kit with the MJ full rear packs. Before After The rear sits at about 5",after it settles I'm sure it will be at 4". The spring went in OK getting the rear shakles not to roll forward was a load of fun , We had to pry them back and lower the jack at the same time to get them to point torward the rear. Other than that this was the smoothest lift and axle swap I have ever done . It took about 6 hours start to finish with two people. I also swapped in my new MJ d44 and 93 D30 with the 3.55 gears as opposed to the 3.08's I had . I will post up more news on the rustys springs as I wear them in but so far they are SAWEET! :D
  12. I will be running 3.55 gears and 31's ( maybe 33's :D ) .
  13. I have been thinking of swapping the puke goat for an auto trans. Since it is major surgeury to get the AW4 in and wired right , A freind of mine said he has a turbo 400 with the tcase that came out of a project XJ with a 401 AMC. The question is how would that work with the 4.0? it does not have an overdrive like the AX4 , how would that work out on the Highway?

Hmmmmmmmm the dualy is gone  Ebay listing was pulled , I wonder if they sold it. Anybody one here have a new dualy? :D
  15. Ask any snapon dealer for a USED MT2500 they will run about $500.00 and the cards if they don't come with them are about $100.00 for the Diagnostic and troubleshooting cards( requires one of each ) Best bet is to call around to garages and see if they have one if they do it'll cost ya about $40.00 to git it set You can get cards for the MT2500 of alomst al early year computorized cars up till 2004> I think they have a newer scanner for 2004 and Up

    Factory Dually??

The only thing I know about the dieseil MJ's is that they use a renault 2.1 Litre engine I have heard it is a POS from some folks, There was one on Ebay that sold for $200.00 in not running condition. I believe someone on the Comanche yahoo group bought it some time back.

    Factory Dually??

 Well aint that interesting :D On the ebay one and the lower pic you sent they seem to have the same type rim on the front axle. I wonder what front axle that has?

    Factory Dually??

Is there any way to find out if that is really a factory deal? Looks damned interesting to me :D
  19. I have tried to adjust my TPS with a meter before also, you can get it to be livable temporarily . I adjusted mine in the same way you are and then got access to a scanner and found out the TPS was WAY off. You might want to try and find someone who has a scanner and get it set dead on , your MJ will be a alot happier :D
  20. don't the 86 MJ's have the longest cable of the bunch? I saw an 86 LWB with the amc 20 rear , the ebrake cable actualy went over the axle and into the brake plate from the rear of the MJ. seems like they would be good to use on some of the higher lifted MJ's
  21. Nope the old ones are still on :( I'm waiting on a D30 before I lift her up :D The new packs are ging to work fine once some weight is on them, I hope :? I have seen many companys make lift springs for YJ's and they do not take into account that the spring must be a bit longer depending on the lift I think the rustys springs are gonna be okay I just need to get em on
  22. Same here 53" eye too eye. when they shipped they just taged each spring they did not send strapped together.
  23. Yup saw that one :-D
  24. Can you get larger joints for a D30 CAD axle?. the MJ is my DD and open trail ride , I save my YJ for the silly stuff. Not that I don't think the MJ will handle it , but they are gettin scarce and I plan on havin this one to be burried in :-D So the larger joints are not much of an issue for me right now. I have tried car part but the hits I got where a hair to far for the ole girl right now. Besides a freind of mine owns a car lot and is scouring the autions for a rear wrecked XJ with low miles , He'll find one soon I am just spaztic right now wanting to get it going :D
