Here is the only "before" pic I could find. The Pass Fender was crunched a little bit up front, the front clip was pushed in a few places and some of the plastics was cracked, busted or missing... Front bumper was also pretty rough, straight, but had extra holes from the push bar had been bolted on and was overall had a pretty "rough" look... So today, after pulling the bumper/front clip/passenger fender off the MJ I do doing some stuff when I was supposed to be "working from home" 1) Painted XJ Bumper with Duplicolor Truck Bed Liner 2) Painted Bumper End Caps with Krylon Fusion 3) Cleaned XJ Fender, pulled badges and Black Flare, painted lower black lower section 4) Painted Grill and Headlight buckets with Black Krylon Fusion 5) Repainted Original MJ White Front Flare with White Kyrlon Fusion 6) Put everything back together 7) Basked in my Glory and enjoyed some beers I just have to get some Glue/Tape to put the "Comanche" badge back on the new fender I'm pretty happy... the Black on the Grill is a little more "shiny" than I would haved liked and I have a little more gap between the hood and fender, bit I can fix that pretty easy... ...and the leftover stuff...

So when will the truck be here to get my Rig... :D Welcome and we all look forward to seeing what you can add to our crazy little MJ world here... More Parts/Choices=GOOD! BTW, if you can Completely Chrome plate any of your stuff, we have at least one guy back east that would love you forever!

ProtoFab RockSolid Rear MJ Bumper

I like the bumper, but not crazy about the spare holder... -
Well, I've been in hibernation for a while, but now figuring out that if I don't work on the trucks, I'll just go crazy with work stuff, so I have to try to get back to more "normal"... This afternoon I left work early and pulled my front clip and Pass side fender that I've been planning on replaceing with the same from the 93 XJ that I parted out earlier this year.. I also hit the front bumper from the XJ with a coat of Duplicolor Truck bed liner and I think it will look pretty nice when all said and done (it was pretty rock pitted, but straight and not rusted, unlike mine that I pulled off the MJ). I need to toss a coat of White Kyrlon Fusion on my White Flare and put everything back together (and swap the Cherokee and Comanche Badges), but think it will look pretty nice

I traced the vac lines back and found out they had both been snipped and were joined together under the hood... so I hooked em back up and I'll just ziptie the ball back in place here till I get a new one... Sheesh... some people...

Wade, if I make it to the pick-n-pull on Saturday I'll pick one up for you if they have one. I'm sure I saw several round ones but not sure of the number of ports. Mike Would love to head down there with you but have about 100 things on my to-do list this weekend...

Should my overflow tank be "boiling"
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks for the offer Brent... I got antsy and ordered the $25 one from Fleabay last night before I went to sleep.. -
So going back to my original ?.... Do I just need to find a different 2 port canister... and does anyone have one laying around?

While I'm sure my AC doesn't run as "cold" as it did 20 years ago, there are still days when I try to run it... If I go even the slightest bit uphill with the AC on, it basically shuts down (or stops blowing air)... I assumed that was because of this canister... Wade

My Vacuum canister has been busted (mounting brackets) and bouncing around inside my front bumper since I got my MJ... Boilermaker was kind enough to send me one that had a good mounting bracket. Went to pop mine off tonight and found that I have 2 lines going into mine and there was only 1 on the canister that BM sent. (mine also has liquid sloshing around inside and dripping out of one of the holes)... Both are the "softball" shaped canisters and not the blimp shape ones (no cruise) Do I just need to find a canister with 2 ports?

Should my overflow tank be "boiling"
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks Guys... I think tomorrow I'll try to get it warmed up...check for leaks arround the bottle/cap area and that seems to be an easy cheap fix if that's it (and I get a good bottle)... I will check the fan as well.... Wade -
Should my overflow tank be "boiling"

Well, not hissing now... can't take it for a spin to warm it back up since I got RugRat duty tonight... if it's a "leak", are we most likely talking just the cap, or the whole stinkin' bottle? (Where do I get either one of those other than a JY?) You do NOT buy just a cap. Guaranteed to NOT seal on an old bottle. Quadratec used to sell the complete bottle and cap assembly for $19. Of course, that's for another plastic fantastic. I prefer the several all-metal solutions that have surfaced recently, despite their initial higher cost. Oops. It's up to $25 now. Not a surprise -- I haven't priced them for several years: http://www.quadratec.com/products/52449_1493.htm Ouch $125 for Metal... If my OEM one went nearly 20 years, I think in today's economy I might take my chance on the $25 ones... http://www.macsradiator.com/replacmentj ... tanks.aspx -

Stock closed system... ... & I'm more of a lurker... I watch what's going on... You get your woman into anther contest, and I'll go to TOWN! *** EDIT *** I've been home almost 90 minutes now and the engine is still hot enough to fry an egg and overflow tank is still "hissing" a little bit... tubes going out of right side of tank is still really Warm... *** EDIT *** -
Should my overflow tank be "boiling"
SuperWade2 replied to SuperWade2's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Was bubbling like a Hot Tub...and by the feel of the engine/hood a BUNCH hotter than I think it should have been... Any suggestions on where to start -> New Cap? T-Stat? -
The fluid in my overflow tank for my cooling system was boiling/bubbling, rapidly... I could feel the hose (quickly) because it was boiling too... nothing overflowing or dripping anywhere, but I could tell the engine was REALLY hot (although not so much on the gauges or anything)... I drove it home from the Dentist (about 8 miles) on the Hwy, which is pretty rare since I usually just drive too and from work through town.

GM 14 Bolt 10.5"? But just a guess...

That's certainly a possibility for later. One thing at a time though. How about 54" Boggers?

My Wife is a Pharmacist and it seems no matter what, they are in pretty high demand (based on the number of recruiting flyers and calls we get with ridiculous sign on and relocation bonus amounts to move to REALLY crappy locations...

How worried are you dudes? Have you guys cut back on stuff already, stockpiling food and guns? (I'd actually like to get a Hand gun, but can't really justify the $$$ right now). I had to drop a bunch of $$$ this past week for a Tranny and AC Compressor for my Tahoe and we are getting ready to leave for a week at Disneyland and San Diego... So I guess we are not really cutting back too much yet, but the Mrs. is starting to get tweaked a little bit... we both have decent jobs that I think are stable (her's probably more so than mine because people are always going to need medical care, but might not always need computer Hard Drives). We are upside down on our home loan (lived in less than 2 years) as the "value" had dropped over $100K since the time we bought. I'm not too worried as I have no plans to move long term as long as I can make my payments every month. I just wanted to see what you guys were seeing everywhere else around here.

It's JEEPTOBERFEST time again...
SuperWade2 replied to BLHTAZ's topic in Adventure Planning / Regional Groups
Brent... you need to update the pic... The MJ looks 'different' now... I'd still do one of the Flag Flame and Pink Cap for the Mrs. if you get another set of those... -
I still think you should take a collection and get a pay version (vBulletin)... I'd kick down!
