depends on the winter, I'd say average of 20's but as low as -10 on a really cold day or even more with a wind chill. GHayduke, I loved that bench seat since I put it in that night. I'me sure I'll use that starter some day. she's always "for sale" just not always advertised, the guy that looked at the right after I got those parts flaked out on me and nobody at the car show/ swap meet even wanted it.

I came up with a short list of things I should do to my truck to better prepare it for the winter, feel free to make any more suggestions remove rattle-can bed liner and do dupli-color roll on bed armor winter wipers (most likely trico chill blades) install freeze-plug coolant heater change trans/rear end fluid coolant flush replace weather stripping on doors when I do the bed armor I will be going all out and wire wheeling the entire bed so I can clean any and all rust out along giving it an optimal bonding surface.

I've never had issues with mechanics not wanting to work on my jeep but maybe thats because 1.) I already know the issue and they just have to fix it, and most likely the main reason 2.) My MJ mechanic drives an MJ.

Man, I can't even sell mine and I'd take 850 for it. I wish I got as good a deal on mine as most of you did for yours.

oh ya I know about the rust. I've been trying to find another car so I can afford to take the truck off the streets for start on rust repair, but it seems like everytime I get the money for a car I have to spend it on something else that suddenly comes up.

It is the back of an old fIre safety company, now its a storage facility and kennel club. The other background is a local steel salvage yard.

Terrible article but nice looking truck.

OK folks, I know I'm terrible at posting pictures, but how about a project update instead. I have recently decided to go with a tremec 5 speed for he build. This decision was made after I realized the way price difference. I think the tremec will fit very nicely behind a built ls1 (aiming for 550 - 600 HP). The trans should be in my posetio soon as they can be had for as low as $100 on craigslist and junk yards have hundreds of them.

I finally got some new pics. I replaced the valve cover gasket over the weekend and decided to paint a few things grabber green. I'll post them up after I replace a valve cover bolt I just snapped.

pfcliest, it doesnt. if you read the entire description, they used the tinted glass so you can get a good idea of what it looks like. it comes with oem glass.

The Start Of Something... 86' Comanche Custom
huck731 replied to TheDirtyJeep401's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
nice tailgate. I just swapped a bench seat into my MJ. I dig the hurst shift knob. I myself have a custom made (by myself) #4 poolball for a shift knob. what did you use to clean up your taillights so good? mine are not bad yet but could use a "refreshing" the 2.5l sure is a gutless motor, but at 292,xxx mine isnt showing any signs of dieying any time soon. -
crash: that is awsone knowledge to have. dirtyjeep: a 401 be it an amc or a buick sounds more expensive that a sbc, but I bet it would be alot of fun.
-
I have decided on an ls3 (for now) since I can pick those up all day at local junk yards and on CL. since I am going that new I don't know if I can do the muncie, so I'll probably get a tremec 5 speed. the engine management is all going to be handled by megasquirt, and it's probably going to wind up with a ford 9" rear end. my main goal with this truck is to keep it as stock looking as possible, but thats going to be hard when it has a pair of MT drag radials in the rear. this will be by no means a DD but more of a fun truck that can still be reliably driven
-
I was already planning on undating the drivetrain as well, a muncie 4-speed and the rear end has not yet been determined. I recently read and article on a guy who installed his radiator and procharger supercharger in the bed of his truck (not going that insane) but it does give me ideas for cooling.

has it been doen before? when I get another car this is the direction I want to take the comanche but I wanted to know if I am traveling down a new road or if this has been done a few times.

Hayduke's Operation Comanche Repower - 88 To 98 Swap
huck731 replied to GHayduke's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
looks good, I hope that topper turns out nice for ya. -
resurections part 2. I've been trying to sell the truck for about 2-3 months now with no luck. after a guy looked and it and bailed on me I decided to just keep the darned ol' thing. I finally got a bench seat from hayduke (thanks man) and I love the truck 20 times more than I did with the bucket seats. first things first though, I found out I have a prety rusted out front leaf spring perch so that will get fixed ASAP. second thing, me and my friends have been thinking to much and they want to put a chevy 350 with either a tremec 5-speed or a th400 behind it. I like this idea (once I finally get another car) but it seems pretty far fetched and rediculous to me (but very fun when finished). either way, I think I'm going to take things slow on the mini jeep now and just focus on rust repair as of now.

what do they look like. I.E. can I make them myself or not.
