89 Scrap Yard Destined Comanche
huck731 replied to Thomas's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
nice save from the scrap yard. mine has 20x the rust and it's not going to die any time soon. was that a j-20? -
I never heard back from the guy so whatever, doesnt break my heart. I'm going to keep modifying my jeep untill I actually sell it or it finally dies ( I was offered $1200 cash today). I still have hopes of getting a set of zj stock rear coils by next weekend so I can do my drop before a show on saturday.
-
you should actually check my project thread, my truck has alot of rust (i.e NO rocker panels)
-
I'm in a similar boat, I drive 23 miles one way to my full time job. its' a toughy.

public opinion here. while working today I made a smart @$$ joke to a customer who need a new fuel filler hose for his jeep wrangler. "heck, I've go ta whoel jeep you can buy" he comes back and says he has a 2000 ford escort zx2 5spd for sale, $1800 but he'll trade me straight up for the truck because his son wants a small truck. should I go for it or not. it's the 2.0l dohc zetec motor, rated at 38 mpg. http://madison.craigslist.org/cto/3767113933.html

I have grey cherokee buckets.

I know that blue doesnt look the best around the edges and stuff, but it'll come off in a few days or when I remove it. If I actually do that it will be plasti-dipped and look alot cleaner.
-
and now because I got bord at 10 last night and oen of my friends just happened to have blue spray paint with him, I did a test run of this to see how it would look.
-
PROGRESS!!!. well, more like random spur of the moment deal due to being bored at work (maybe 6 total customers between 4 and 10 on monday) and my awsome discount.

warning points, what are they? what do they do?

a friend of mine did something like that in florida a few years ago. bought a crappy honda civic from some guy for like $700 and never took the sign out of the window, 4 blocks later someone stopped him and bought it for $1000.
-
a few years back I bought an 84 honda magna 700 on CL, gave the guy cash, got in my car, immedietly called a friend of mine, sodl it to him fro $800 (paid $600), went and picked it up later that night, and had it out of my driveway the next morning. so I'd say 2 minutes. crazy thing is i only called my friend to tell him what I got, he offered my $800 because he wanted it.

I'm back from the dead!!!!!! so since I've been laid off since apr 5th and have started a part tiem job at oreilly auto (F*#@ ya) I jsut got really ambitous and am goign to start rust repair this week. after that thefrotn end is going to get fixed immedietly followed by lowering the entire truck 2". those are the hard, in-stone plans. soft plans are to do that paint the tailight mod and to fix the rear brake prob valve. also a new idea, a buddy picked up a 91 xj with an xj and a half of parts. that includes one spare 4.0l that needs a gasket kit to run right, we are thinking 4.2l stroker. but don't hold me to that as it's his spare motor and I still dd this truck.

It's Raining Over Priced Taillights On Ebay
huck731 replied to NHMJXJ's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
thats always the first thing I do when I get a new vehicle, join that respective forum. parts are always cheaper adn you may learn that parts from something else will work and are more readily available. case in point, monday I bought a 1980 honda cb750f, got home and immedietly joined the cbf forums. -

1991 Mj Sportruck - Chillicothe, Oh
huck731 replied to GirsMJ86's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
that price is insane -
I wouldnt go so far as give it away, but ya, I'd sell me short bed cap.
-
I'm not so much against it, I just want to illiminate the chance of me cutting one off to much and then still having to find a new spring.
-
I didnt think about hwo the lenght's might differ... ya, when this is executed it will be going to get an alignment the same or the next day.
-
ok, I guess I was just overthinking it in my head. the whole "these are coming off a zj which has more rear end weight and a v6, but if placed up front it will lower the front end?"
-
ok screw it, I'll just drop the whole thing. but still me having the 2.5, what coils will give me drop on the front?
