Picked-up the axles...let me know what you think
maddzz1 replied to robfg67's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Rob, you may have a shot at returning the axle. In your other thread you posted that he said it had the larger u-joints and if it has 260 u-joints they are not the larger ones he said. You also said he posted the brakes are good and they may not be. Are They? -
don't feel bda pete I am in 3 leagues and have one win after the first 3 weeks (which makes me 1-8 ). And I had ronnie Brown on the bench for the Pats game.
-
If you have a kid who is the kicker on his football team he could practice kicking field goals with that foolish wing.

Well, its going to the dump sometime tomorrow (what i pulled from under it) and that axel is sittin under my dad's JK I don't think it will be a direct swap from the jk to the Mj, but i am not sure.

Help - Electrical/starting
maddzz1 replied to The_Slow_Norris's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No. Not on the old ones. Neutral on the transfer case disengages the transmission from the transfer case, but it locks the front and rear drive shafts. If they try to tow it like that with the front wheels on the arms and the rear wheels on the ground -- it'll get interesting in a hurry. For a short tow leave it in 2WD. For a long tow, have them use a flatbed. slightly offtopic, I did a flat-drag with my newest MJ in T-case-Neutral and the trans in park, should I be lookin' for aother AW-4 or am I still cool? No weird noises during the tow? I have an 89 and thats how the FSM and the owners manual say to do it. Tranfer case in neutral and tranny in park That is correct -- for a flat tow with all four wheels on the ground. That is not correct for a tow on a hook. Eagle, If it locks the driveshafts why would it matter if the front wheels are on the groud or in the air? Wouldnt the rear wheels just drag and not spin if the DS was locked? -

Went and got some 3/0 offset hooks to try the senkos today. Caught 3 bass in the first 1/2 hour ( one small and 2 between 1 and 1.5lbs). Then caught another baby one a little later. Not bad for a very overly fished little river type spot; and i was only using the 4" ones. So far the senkos seem to have alot of promise. can't wait to take them out to a real lake.

If anyone is having trouble logging in there may be a few reasons. When you are on the fantasy page if you click on sign in at the top of the page that is actually for logging in to nfl.com not the fantasy part. That is why it says that it doesnt recognize the username. Sometime when i get to the fantasy page it doesnt show my team link. If you go to the fantasy drop down menu and click on player news and then when the player news page come up click on the back button it will bring you back and your team link will be there.

They are a type of rubber worm/soft plastic bait. Do a search and some reading on some boards like bassresource.com and I think you will want to try them I've never tried the senkos but am willing to try. Might be a good change of scenery for my local bass. I seem to have the best results with old school plastic worms, my favorite being the Manns 8" or 9" blackberry jelly worms. Big baits = big fish (unless you're six years old). Give'm a try. You usually fish them weightless with a texas rig on a 3/0 or 4/0 hook. I got some 4" and 5". I also want to pick up some of them shake2 jigs and try to learn how to fish with them.

I recently just got back into fishing and picked up some senkos. Hoping to try them out tomorrow. Anybody else here tried them?

Offer him 500. Then sell me the rust free bed for 200. :D

So if you wanted to regear to bigger gears and had a locker that didnt require spider gears would you just need to buy the ring and pinion?
-
I assume the purpose of the locker is to keep power to both wheels at all times incase one wheel comes off the ground and the limited slip diverts all power to that wheel. Is there anything else a locker does?

Since it started after the oil change. I would swap in a new oil filter before doing anything else. It could just be a bad filter and they are cheap too.

Anybody know what connector this is for??
maddzz1 replied to jtdesigns's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
No the other socket is for the POWER/COMFORT switch illumination lamp. JT, you should stick a switch and bezel in there and get it working. The AW4 shifts much better in the POWER position IMHO. I knew one was for the power/comfort switch (my 89 is AW4). I just wasnt sure which of the 3 I listed the other switch is for. I think mine is in the comfort mode; I tried switching it a few times and never really noticed much of a difference. If it is in the comfort mode i will try leaving it in the power mode for a while and see if i can notice a difference. -

The other one I think is either fog lights or rear wiper for an XJ. Maybe even rear defrost for an XJ. -
Looking for Fuel injector seals
maddzz1 replied to bobweiser's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Does anyone know off hand how many quick releases there are? for the fuel lines, and for the tranny lines? Brent, are the ones for the tranny lines the same price? -
don't know if this belongs in tech, but since it shows what the pioneer package includes I thought I would put it here.
-
Is it a 6cyl or 4cyl? I believe the 4cyl has a tensioner for the timing chain and that could be the problem.

How did your smack talk work out for you this week... Turner the Burner was the man for me this week and even with a so-so week for my QB, a HORRIBLE Defense and an "average" night for the Purple Messiah (All Day AP), I'm most likely going to take the Win and the High Score for the Week... Just keep talking!!! SW2 This is my typical luck. If i had played anyone else i would have won. But of course, i play the only guy who gets mpre points than me.

You shouldnt have any problem cleaning it out. I would just make sure it was completely dry before closing it up and re-installing. You could coat the outside with por15 or something but i wouldnt put any rust preventer on the inside
