  1. Is there a way to delete pm's while it is open? or do you have to go to the subject screen and put a check in the boxes of the ones you want deleted? Maybe I'm missing something but I can't find a delete icon anywhere on the screen where i read the pm. :dunno:
  2. Basically, Some "Scumbag" at the post office sliced open my nephews xmas card and stole the gift cards out. I went to walmart and find out where the cards were used and when and called the postal inspector.
  3. Got a call today, and due to my diligent and sleuthlike detective work, the federal inspectors were able to get the video pic and identify the girl who stole and used the cards. She is (soon to be was) a postal employee. They have been waiting to arrest her for 3 days but she has called out sick. If she doesnt show up for her next shift they will be going to arrest her at her house. :clapping:
  4. While i have no stance for or against the rule I would like to give my opinion. There have been a few times where someone will say I have a (insert part here) if you need one in a tech thread, I think the initial post can help because it might be something the person wasnt intending to sell until the original poster needed it. Maybe after the original "I have one" post it should be brought to PM.
  5. I'm surprised its still smiling after spending the day on her arse.
  6. Here are some great writeups with lots of pics. http://gojeep.willyshotrod.com/HowtoD30AxlesSeals.htm This one you have to click the axle seal link. http://www.madxj.com/
  7. It takes about an hour and 15 minutes. An hour on the first one and 15 minutes on the second one. At least that's how it went when I did mine with my stubby little fingers LOL. :D Same wit me; an hour on the first door, 15 minutes on the second. The best way to remove the clips is to remove the plug on the side of the door (it is an access plug to remove the door handle) and insert a long screw driver thru the hole and against the clip and tap it with a hammer. Also, before you can disconnect the actuator rods there is a fold down clip/lock that you must flip down before the bend in the rod will slide out of the hole.
  8. I have one on mine. 89 pioneer
  9. Thanks for the replies. When it warms up I will break out the FSM and tear the whole CAD down. I would like to keep it stock and working but if it starts to become expensive i will probally just shim the fork over, atleast temporarily. Is the linkage for the XJ swappable to an MJ? if so, is it just up til 96? Is there a place that sells the linkage?
  10. I rarely use my 4WD as my truck is mostly my DD. After reading a thread the other day I noticed that my 4WD light never comes on when I shift into 4HI. So last night I decide to shift it into neutral to make sure it was atleast shifting and it will not go into neutral (yes I moved the shifter to the right). I assme there is a problem with the linkage which I will check when it warms up a little. There is no problem shinfting into and out of 4HI. Anyone else had this problem or have an opinion? Also, what is the best/easiest way to check if it is even shifting into 4wd? see if front d-shaft is spinning?
  11. mine also stays right at about 155*
  12. I would definately like to see the pics of hpw you did the ebrake. I want to put a floor shifter in, I will keep the ebrake the way it is now if I have too, but it will look much cleaner if I can move it.
  13. I believe the 3161 is for 1990 and up. The #'s that SW2 gave I believe are the correct ones. I have a set at home waiting to go in.

    Scumbags....

With the way the economy is and the seemingly growing number of SCUMBAGS in society we may end up with a section dedicated to scumbags.

    Scumbags....

Brother got a call from someone at the post master today (after sending an email stating he was going to call the local TV station because the local police didnt seem interested and he hadnt heard from the PO general yet). The woman said that the reason he wasnt called back was because the guy was on vacation. She told him that the local police don't matter because they are involved now and it is a federal offense. She said to date that know one had gotten them as much info as we had and that they would be going to Walmart to look at the security tapes and definately pursuing the matter and would keep him posted.
  16. A few people were trying to mount the parking brake cable in the center console but were having trouble with the e-brake cable under the truck. How did you connect the cables to the brake handle?
  17. There is one on craigslist near me. I will PM you the link. If the guy won't ship, I may be able to pick it up and ship it for you. PM sent
  18. Mike Ditka would win....Da Bears :rotf:
  19. I will let you know when I scrape the dust off the boxes and get them in( money, or not having any, always seems to get in the way of repairs). I have decided to replace the hubs at the same time since they are also 20 years old and it will be apart anyway. With new u-joints(spicers), ball joints(moog), and hubs(timkens), I will hopefully never have to pull it apart again.

    Scumbags....

I got a call from brother yesterday letting me know that my nephews gift cards werent in his card when it arrived. After some research with the postal service and walmart it looks like some scumbag at the post office in Sarasota, Fla sliced open his card, took the gift cards out, and taped the envelope back together. :headpop: We were able to find out which walmart and when they were used. Hopefully they will be able to find this low life from the security camera. We have done most of the research so all they need to do is get the image and show it to the manager at the PO and see if it is an employee. My brother was the 4th person in 2 days with the same complaint at that PO so they are very certain it is an employee.
  21. This is a link to the 88 elec FSM that Taz posted. The wiring should be the same. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12734
  22. Hopefully it is a little more successful than the screw/bolt size thread. This summer I am hoping to have my lift on and tear the whole truck down to por15 it. So I should be able to contribute alot to both threads. Some torque specs from the 89 FSM based on bolt size: Bolt size..... Grade 5..... Grade 8 1/4-20..... 95 in lbs..... 125 in lbs 1/4-20..... 95 in lbs..... 150 in lbs 5/16-18..... 200 in lbs..... 270 in lbs 5/16-24..... 20 ft lbs..... 25 ft lbs 3/8-16..... 30 ft lbs..... 40 ft lbs 3/8-24..... 35 ft lbs..... 45 ft lbs 7/16-14..... 50 ft lbs..... 65 ft lbs 7/16-20..... 55 ft lbs..... 70 ft lbs 1/2-13..... 75 ft lbs..... 100 ft lbs 1/2-20..... 85 ft lbs..... 110 ft lbs 9/16-12..... 105 ft lbs..... 135 ft lbs 9/16-18..... 115 ft lbs..... 150 ft lbs 5/8-11..... 150 ft lbs..... 195 ft lbs 5/8-18..... 160 ft lbs..... 210 ft lbs 3/4-16..... 175 ft lbs..... 225 ft lbs
  23. The nerve of some people. :fs1: Going away on vacation when we are waiting for results on this project. ;)
  24. I agree with taz and CW. When I told you to lengthen the control arms it was based on you telling me the buckets were pointed back toward the cab, but in your picture they are pointing forward toward the grill, not back the cab. I would first call rock krawler and find out if there is a way to tell for sure if the lift is for a WJ. No point in trying to redo/adjust everything if they sent you the wrong lift.
  25. I have read this post three times and I still don't know what you said...... Please post a pic, we are all willing to help. Without a picture, this is purely a waste of time. CW CW, I think he is answering the question I asked. The round "plate" on the axle that the coil spring sits on is angled back toward the cab instead of flat/straight up. Which to me means the axle has to be rotated forward. It sounds to me like you need to adjust the control arms a little longer to rotate the axle; unless I am missing something.
