  1. New headlight bulbs... I converted to H4's a couple years back. Upgraded the wiring last year. I swapped in some new bulbs I got off EBay... I have been running a set of these in my Lil commuter mazda and I really liked them so I picked up a couple more sets for the other Jeeps... Sorry for the cell pic.. Yellow is much easier on oncoming drivers eyes. Penetrates wet roads fog and snow much better. CW

  3. Shifted gears..Seems no one I called had any in stock and the one that did drop shipped from Pacesetter in Cali... Buku shipping to get it here by Friday. SO, its a factory replacement, probably a better idea anyhow for fitment and future problems...
  4. We have spoken about this here and there. Around here the consensus is the BORLA is about the best. But has some issues with the collector pipe and its mounting. But the quality is there, so is the price... Pacesetter is cheaper, offers a couple options in coatings. But gets mixed reviews. Stock replacements are just that. Factory stuff is gone, a couple companies offer "stock" replacement pieces but are prone to the same cracking. Its not a terrible hard job. As long as you don't break a stud off in the head... My question is who has what and what is/are your comments to others needing to go down this road... IE would you do again and what would you do different? CW
  5. That's a nice looking topper!! Make sure you have a good ground on that antenna. The ground plane will suk with mounting it that lo to the ground, but the 102" of ariel will help some. Side of the bed is better if you don't mind drilling holes. You get at least a 2" SQ ground plane. CW
  6. Yup they are, but its of no matter. "C" Clips get a unwarranted bad rap. They are not a problem. they are blamed for much of the bad press with the D35. But the vast majority of these problems are rooted in the weak case and thin axle tubes, NOT the "C" Clips. See the weak axle housing flexes and when it does this far enough, it spits the clip. Also a good side shot can cause them to pop. But only because the case doesn't properly support them. Not so with the 8.8. It's built to hold up to King Kong, it's case rivals the D60 in size. You almost NEVER hear of someone loosing an axle due to "C"Clip failure in a 8.8. Frankly, the "C" Clip itself, in any axle doesn't fail, it pops out. YES a Disc brake set on the 8.8 would hold the axle in, but it would only serve as a gingerly get off the trail option. CW That may be true of the 8.8, but the bad rap of the c-clip retention system was well earned on the drag strip and they are banned unless modified for anyone running any kind of speed. Granted, the 10-bolt GM rear accounted for most of the issues. The day ANY OF US runs even HALF the horse power one a drag car has... that comment may have some validity! I just hate miss information, and the false truths about the evil "C" Clip is one of the big ones! CW
  7. No, the "wagon wheels" were the steel 6 or 8-spoke factory rims. The turbine rims in the photos are the 10-spoke alloys that were the optional rim on the 84-89 (or 90?) XJ and 86-89 (90?) MJ. They are 15x7 ... so are the wagon wheels. No, the steel 6 or 8 spoke factory wheels were the Rally's. You are correct in that the factory called the 6- or 8-spoke steelies "Rally" wheels. But nobody actually calls them that. I haven't heard them referred to as anything other than wagon wheels for at least 15 years. I haven't heard people ever call the steelies wagon wheels in the past 16 years. While we are on the top, it's a "shell" not a cap, and not a topper. See, we could go on all day like this. Guys, why the bickering??? Even think there might be different names for the same things based on your location??? Think of soda, soda pop or just pop. How about Jimmies, shots or sprinkles on your ice cream. Then there is grinder, hoagie or hero sandwich, they are ALL THE SAME!!! COme on now, relax a bit and show some courtesy to your fellow club brothers... Just sayin'... CW
  8. Round here they are 10 spokes... But Turbines are also a common name. CW

  10. Buck and Gerber are not what they used to be... Kershaw gets you a good line of assisted opening blades in the Ken Onion line. Steel is OK, not great but OF, for the money you have to spend, your options on "good" knives are limited. Stay away from "stainless" blades and anything offered on those TV infomercials. Cold Steel is one of my favorites as are Benchmade. But the style of recent bench made is not to my liking but the quality is there. You will find some CS knives in your price range, but not so with Benchmade. At least not new... I don't know where you are or the laws regarding edged weapon carry. So beware of the laws. Around here its 4" of blade length, that's cutting edge, so double edge knives get measured on both sides. I know your not asking about this just pointing out different laws. "Spring" assist are not legal for carry, but legal to own... Kershaw are legal as long as they are shorter then 4". If you EBay, look for an older 110 or slightly larger 112 Buck. This is a great knife, as are old Schrade Uncle Henry knives. Puma made a good one as well, all of these new are above your spending limits, but On EBay, you will find what you want. If you didn't figure it out, I also have an affinity for knives... :brows: Good luck, CW
  11. I have both and prefer the D44. Couple reasons, its the right width, its got a larger aftermarket following, its overall smaller and lighter, and its got better ground clearance. CW
  12. Sorry to hear the factory option is gone... I too am on my second BOSCH pump in as many years... seems about 2 is what you get out of them... CW
  13. Geert Wilders is a Dutch Member of Parliament. In a generation or two, the US will ask itself: Who lost Europe ?' Here is the speech of Geert Wilders, Chairman, Party for Freedom, the Netherlands, at the Four Seasons, New York, introducing an Alliance of Patriots and announcing the Facing Jihad Conference in Jerusalem . Dear friends, Thank you very much for inviting me. I come to America with a mission. All is not well in the old world. There is a tremendous danger looming, and it is very difficult to be optimistic. We might be in the final stages of the Islamization of Europe. This not only is a clear and present danger to the future of Europe itself, it is a threat to America and the sheer survival of the West. The United States as the last bastion of Western civilization, facing an Islamic Europe. First I will describe the situation on the ground in Europe . Then, I will say a few things about Islam. To close I will tell you about a meeting in Jerusalem . The Europe you know is changing. You have probably seen the landmarks. But in all of these cities, sometimes a few blocks away from your tourist destination, there is another world. It is the world of the parallel society created by Muslim mass-migration. All throughout Europe a new reality is rising: entire Muslim neighborhoods where very few indigenous people reside or are even seen. And if they are, they might regret it. This goes for the police as well. It's the world of head scarves, where women walk around in figureless tents, with baby strollers and a group of children. Their husbands, or slaveholders if you prefer, walk three steps ahead. With mosques on many street corners. The shops have signs you and I cannot read. You will be hard-pressed to find any economic activity. These are Muslim ghettos controlled by religious fanatics. These are Muslim neighborhoods, and they are mushrooming in every city across Europe . These are the building-blocks for territorial control of increasingly larger portions of Europe , street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood, city by city. There are now thousands of mosques throughout Europe . With larger congregations than there are in churches. And in every European city there are plans to build super-mosques that will dwarf every church in the region. Clearly, the signal is: we rule. Many European cities are already one-quarter Muslim: just take Amsterdam , Marseille and Malmo in Sweden . In many cities the majority of the under-18 population is Muslim. Paris is now surrounded by a ring of Muslim neighborhoods. Mohammed is the most popular name among boys in many cities. In some elementary schools in Amsterdam the farm can no longer be mentioned, because that would also mean mentioning the pig, and that would be an insult to Muslims. Many state schools in Belgium and Denmark only serve halal food to all pupils. In once-tolerant Amsterdam gays are beaten up almost exclusively by Muslims. Non-Muslim women routinely hear 'lady of the night, lady of the night'. Satellite dishes are not pointed to local TV stations, but to stations in the country of origin. In France school teachers are advised to avoid authors deemed offensive to Muslims, including Voltaire and Diderot; the same is increasingly true of Darwin . The history of the Holocaust can no longer be taught because of Muslim sensitivity. In England sharia courts are now officially part of the British legal system. Many neighborhoods in France are no-go areas for women without head scarves. Last week a man almost died after being beaten up by Muslims in Brussels , because he was drinking during the Ramadan. Jews are fleeing France in record numbers, on the run for the worst wave of anti-Semitism since World War II. French is now commonly spoken on the streets of Tel Aviv and Netanya , Israel . I could go on forever with stories like this. Stories about Islamization. A total of fifty-four million Muslims now live in Europe . San Diego University recently calculated that a staggering 25 percent of the population in Europe will be Muslim just 12 years from now. Bernhard Lewis has predicted a Muslim majority by the end of this century. Now these are just numbers. And the numbers would not be threatening if the Muslim-immigrants had a strong desire to assimilate. But there are few signs of that. The Pew Research Center reported that half of French Muslims see their loyalty to Islam as greater than their loyalty to France . One-third of French Muslims do not object to suicide attacks. The British Centre for Social Cohesion reported that one-third of British Muslim students are in favor of a worldwide caliphate. Muslims demand what they call 'respect'. And this is how we give them respect. We have Muslim official state holidays. The Christian-Democratic attorney general is willing to accept sharia in the Netherlands if there is a Muslim majority. We have cabinet members with passports from Morocco and Turkey . Muslim demands are supported by unlawful behavior, ranging from petty crimes and random violence, for example against ambulance workers and bus drivers, to small-scale riots. Paris has seen its uprising in the low-income suburbs, the banlieus. I call the perpetrators 'settlers'. Because that is what they are. They do not come to integrate into our societies; they come to integrate our society into their Dar-al-Islam. Therefore, they are settlers. Much of this street violence I mentioned is directed exclusively against non-Muslims, forcing many native people to leave their neighborhoods, their cities, their countries. Moreover, Muslims are now a swing vote not to be ignored. The second thing you need to know is the importance of Mohammed the prophet. His behavior is an example to all Muslims and cannot be criticized. Now, if Mohammed had been a man of peace, let us say like Ghandi and Mother Theresa wrapped in one, there would be no problem. But Mohammed was a warlord, a mass murderer, a pedophile, and had several marriages - at the same time. Islamic tradition tells us how he fought in battles, how he had his enemies murdered and even had prisoners of war executed. Mohammed himself slaughtered the Jewish tribe of Banu Qurayza. If it is good for Islam, it is good. If it is bad for Islam, it is bad. Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a here-after, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology. It is a system that lays down detailed rules for society and the life of every person. Islam wants to dictate every aspect of life. Islam means 'submission'. Islam is not compatible with freedom and democracy, because what it strives for is sharia. If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national-socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies. Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world', and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Quran. The public has wholeheartedly accepted the Palestinian narrative, and sees Israel as the aggressor. I have lived in this country and visited it dozens of times. I support Israel . First, because it is the Jewish homeland after two thousand years of exile up to and including Auschwitz, second because it is a democracy, and third because Israel is our first line of defense. This tiny country is situated on the fault line of jihad, frustrating Islam's territorial advance. Israel is facing the front lines of jihad, like Kashmir, Kosovo, the Philippines , Southern Thailand, Darfur in Sudan , Lebanon , and Aceh in Indonesia . Israel is simply in the way. The same way West-Berlin was during the Cold War. The war against Israel is not a war against Israel . It is a war against the West. It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us. If there would have been no Israel , Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest. Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming. Many in Europe argue in favor of abandoning Israel in order to address the grievances of our Muslim minorities. But if Israel were, God forbid, to go down, it would not bring any solace to the West It would not mean our Muslim minorities would all of a sudden change their behavior, and accept our values. On the contrary, the end of Israel would give enormous encouragement to the forces of Islam. They would, and rightly so, see the demise of Israel as proof that the West is weak, and doomed. The end of Israel would not mean the end of our problems with Islam, but only the beginning. It would mean the start of the final battle for world domination. If they can get Israel , they can get everything. So-called journalists volunteer to label any and all critics of Islamization as a 'right-wing extremists' or 'racists'. In my country, the Netherlands , 60 percent of the population now sees the mass immigration of Muslims as the number one policy mistake since World War II. And another 60 percent sees Islam as the biggest threat. Yet there is a greater danger than terrorist attacks, the scenario of America as the last man standing. The lights may go out in Europe faster than you can imagine. An Islamic Europe means a Europe without freedom and democracy, an economic wasteland, an intellectual nightmare, and a loss of military might for America - as its allies will turn into enemies, enemies with atomic bombs. With an Islamic Europe, it would be up to America alone to preserve the heritage of Rome , Athens and Jerusalem . Dear friends, liberty is the most precious of gifts. My generation never had to fight for this freedom, it was offered to us on a silver platter, by people who fought for it with their lives. All throughout Europe , American cemeteries remind us of the young boys who never made it home, and whose memory we cherish. My generation does not own this freedom; we are merely its custodians. We can only hand over this hard won liberty to Europe 's children in the same state in which it was offered to us. We cannot strike a deal with mullahs and imams. Future generations would never forgive us. We cannot squander our liberties. We simply do not have the right to do so. We have to take the necessary action now to stop this Islamic stupidity from destroying the free world that we know. Please take the time to read and understand what is written here, Please send it to every free person that you know, it is so very important.

  17. MOVING TO MEXICO Dear President Obama: I'm planning to move my family and extended family into Mexico for my health, and I would like to ask you to assist me. We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. Into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements. We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following: 1. Free medical care for my entire family. 2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not. 3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English. 4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers. 5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history. 6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school. 7. Please plan to feed my grand kids at school for both breakfast and lunch. 8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services. 9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico , but, I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws. 10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer. 11. I plan to fly the U.S. Flag from my house top, put U S. Flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals. 12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start. 13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy. 14. I want to receive free food stamps. 15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies. 16. I'll need Income tax credits so although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government. 17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Gov't pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car. 18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement. I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U.S. From Mexico . I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely. Thank you so much for your kind help. You're the man!!!

  19. I saw/read a thread/post on these. I DEF would if I had allot of bends to make! I really don't. I have four more bends to complete the front piece, so for me, its more work than necessary. From what I read, saw, your absolutely correct! they made a HUGE difference! CW
  20. I wouldn't go over about 3" as you will get dangerously close to the end of the bump-stop stem... Flex that and you could pretty easily loose a spring... that could be bad. CW
  21. OK, I decided to lower the basket as much as possible. I was only able to get 4.5" but it does look better and makes it a bit easier to access the cooler. Then I want to balance the tires as I got some vibes when I used it over the weekend. I know most people never balance trailer tires, but if it makes it better, its a small price to pay. I also need to play with air pressure as the tires are rated for 2500+ lbs each, so with little to no weight in the trailer its rolling on about 2" of the center of the tread. I dropped the pressure to 20lbs and we will see what that does... Then with the tires off, it was a good time to toss in the new axle! That was a snap. Only issue was the perches where about a half inch wider on the 3500K... I didn't think it was enough to worry about for a trailer so I just pulled the springs and put it in. It works out to a quarter inch each side. Looks fine. Old and new. (Old has the spacers on.) Also the new axle is just under a half inch wider than the older axle. CW
  22. no, the rollers where very good, I did lube up the axle pins tho! :D At the start of the bend, I had them as close as possible. maybe this is wrong, but its what I did and they didn't move at all, but this will not get you a 90 degree bend with this diameter. So i widened them to third and finally second to widest and pumped to the end of the stroke. Out there, they rolled with the pump stroke nicely. This go me to 90 degrees. the "dimples came form having the rollers too close. CW
  23. Dusted off the HF Bender and bent up two pipes for my bed side protection!!! I think they came out purdy good for the third and fourth bends ever with it!! To recap, I'm using Black pipe. its for the bed side rails to protect from tree damage. the will run down the bed sides with "stand-offs" every so often. then be reinforced with one or two "cross bars" connecting right and left sides. I read allot of tips on using one of these benders. the one common thread was GO SLOW!! I started by polishing the mandrel, then the pipe itself. Removing all paint and smoothing the surface. then a thin coat of wheel bearing grease. then while bending, I limited the bend, releasing the pressure frequently. As i got close to 90 degrees, I got out the square to check. Both sides are bent just over 90 degrees. but as I will only be using a couple inches into the bend, it will be unnoticeable. I do have two depressions in each pipe, but they are minor and the pipe is completely usable for my needs. CW
