  1. Very soon I will be chopping my third one. All beyond repair but with PLENTY of good parts!! The first one we took to SHIVONE's in New Haven. Got something like 34$ scrap. All chopped up to easily handlable pieces. This one will get cut a bit smaller and thrown in the metal dumpster at a buddies shop. They can make the dime on it!! CW
  2. I have a set in that garage waiting to go in the MJ when I do the Drop Brackets!! Two guys in my club run them and have nothing but GOOD THINGS TO SAY!!! If they are even close to the other JKS products we have a winner!!! I wouldnt worry one bit. CW
  3. Likely the day I die, my friend, the day I die....   You can't take it with ya! I say ENJOY IT!!! CW
  4. Just wanna show them off...no they are not on the MJ...they are for the TJ!!! I picked them up locally from a guy between a rock and a hard place. He had only about 500 miles on them, ONE trail ride where he trashed a side wall. They where too big for his lift. He just wanted to unload and move on. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. :brows: They are Pro Comp X Terrains in 35X12.5 X15 inch sixe. He also had a Pro Comp MUD TERRAIN as a spare as the X Terrains are directional. Thanks for letting me show them off!!! CW
  5. WJ's ran from 1999 till 2004. Any of those years will have the same LCA's. CW
  6. Personally I see no advantage to removing the cat on these engines. The PO iof mine replaced the cat with a HI-FLO..says that on it! When the muffler went I threw on a glass pack, cherry bomb on to make it thru the winter. That was 2005. Its still on there... It sounds good, but getting louder. Its about time for a replacement. I have a DYNO-MAX on my TJ and really like it. I have seen the GIBSON's but never tried them. They are a round muffler, right? Eagle where do you get yours?? I'll try one!! CW
  7. I can maybe see swapping these in if a buddie has them or you just run across them for cheap..... But if your going to the trouble of ordering coils to lift your rig...Why not just BUY THE RIGHT ONES!! ;) CW
  8. The ECTED is a full carrier differential. This means a complete set up of your gears. ECTED works flawlessly today!! Only problem, is trail was beyond its capabilities. I parked it and walked the trail and shot pics. TONS of ledges most over 2ft. LOTS of greasy dirt between the rocks. these are NOT established trails... They need to be run for a season and have good rains inbetween to get the rocks to become unearthed more. Two lockers and aggressive tires almost a must here today!! Here is a couple shots, sorry no MJ's. CW
  9. Its great IF YOU GET ONE THAT WORKS!!!   I would look other places. Not worth the agravation in my opinion. Everything I would have saved was spent on re-insyilation. Not to mention the anguish of all the phone calls and other nonsence. Should have gone ARB/OX. ECTED is like 230 cheaper BUT when you factor in the TWO installs I paid for. I would have been ahead by over $100 to go ARB, more SAVINGS with the OX and do it once. Found a "cover-it" last week!!! Local guy has it, its a couple years old and he dosen't need it anylonger. I'll pick it up in a couple weeks when the snow melts some more. Going wheeling today!!! Gotta try this new bugger out! :brows: :brows: CW
  10. I got the MJ back!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D I spoke to my mech who did the install. He said he bench tested BOTH units side by side. The onld one did nothing when 12V was applied and the new one clicked. Upon further examination he found a collar that would move when juice was applied. That was on the new one. That same collar could not be moved at all, even by prying, in the old one. BOTH units had good magnetic fields when 12v was applied. Thats how this unit funtions. the magnet pulls something up inside that applies buku force to the clutch packs. Effectively "locking" the two rear axles. Much like a clutch in a standard tranny locks the engine to the rest of the drive line. Then he clamped the diff in a vice, inserted axle shafts and tried to bias (LS part) between the two axle shafts. Easily accomplished with the old unit. Couldn't budge it with the new one...this is only the limited slip part, no 12v so no locker for this test!!! Install went easy. Parking lot test was VERY Scientific. :brows: Back one reaer tire up into a snow drift untill reward momentum stop's and tire in snow spins. Then stop, hit the switch and depress gas pedal. Truck backs up more than begins spinning BOTH rear tires!!! More mods coming soon..... CW
  11. If money is tight I would say try the rock krawler bar and bracket. if money is not tight, go with the KEVINS track bar conversion!! Either one converts the frame end to a FAR better WJ design. Check out my post in rigs for pics and further explinations.. CW
  12. I just replace them with new ones I get from NAPA, in 3/8 X 16 size. CW
  13. YES I should have mentioned that...kinda assumed you would know it..shouldn't do that I know! :D  Thanks Pete!!! CW
  14. To the best of my knoledge the XJ/MJ ax15's are all 23 spline so as long as the T case is same..YES it will bolt up. Just be sure of orig AX15 app is from the XJ/MJ as there are clocking issues for that tranny from diff vehicles... CW
  15. Why? Just curious, is it your opinion or some catistrofic failure that results from doing so. I will say that a reg sand blast is far too abrasive for alloy wheels. Too much material is removed. But a fine abrasive works just fine. I have used it twice now with excellent results. Still a better choice may be glass beading them. Is not as agreesive as sand but should work well on alloys. Just curious, not flaming. CW
  16. If your finding rusted lines, I would suggest you just COMPLETELY replace that line. There are spots that are hard to see, so its safe to assume there could be rust there as well.... After all... it is your brakes, right?? CW
  17. Check out my thread in rigs!! I chopped mine and removed half of the inner fender well and made up braces from 1/2" X 1/16th steel strapping. EASY!! CW
  18. Yea I still have the TJ.... Actually it got some mods as well!!! My buddie and I put in a new 4to1 T-case a couple weeks back!!! VERY soon she's getting new shoes!! Here she is today for those that need proof: We had some pretty good snow here at the end of last week, about 10inches. I know my cover-it is not great, but hopped it would last untill I got home last Friday night...it didnt!!! Well I took the TJ out today. Mostly because I have noticed the cover collapsing more and more. So I figured I better get it out while I still can!!! I did sustain some damage. The ridge pole bent it three places. The last one occured as I was backing out. It bent and broke right in front of my face. it collapsed and hit squarely on one of the hood mounted rubber windshield bumpers. Then skidded down and off the hood. Both mirrors where badle twisted, but not broken. Here is the garage...or whats left of it anyhow!!
  19. Yes, you could open up the centers and use them.... I have a couple friends that swear by fore ranger factory steel rims for there jeeps. Mostly because the BS is 3.75" and the cheap cost. CW
  20. Your both welcome!! Knoledge is power... we should all soak it up like a sponge! Informative huh!! Nice site as well!! CW
  21. Here is all you need to know about the "jonnyjoint". http://www.currieenterprises.com/cestor ... oints.aspx CW
  22. As long as you have a flexable CA, IE one that twists. I prefer the stock Rubber. If not a Jonny Joint and a stock rubber is next best. AVOID Hiem unless its offroad only. They wear fast and are VERY noisy and harsh on the street. CW
  23. Both mini spools and Lincolin lockers are only as strong as thier weakest part...the carrier itself. NOT advised for any front application though... Watch for a lunch box. Is a MUCH better choice!!! CW
  24. Step one, complete: The ECTED has arrived!! Dosen't look like anyone has opened the box though....his saying he would bench test for me. BEFORE shipment, was likely more horse $#!&!! I'll throw some axle shafts in it and run power to it to test, a little later today... CW
