  1. YOU DECIDE!!! Here is some more pics from my local club site: http://www.jonfund.com/forum/ubbthreads ... 24&fpart=1 CW
  2. Mine had 59,000 in 2005 when I bought it. I bought it from the third owner... I bought it from the sister of orig owner. She got it from another brother who got it from a second brother who died suddenly. The living brother never drove it, said he couldn't. It was his brothers truck. He gave it to the sister. The sister never really liked the truck. She kept it in the barn and only took it to the feed store once or twice a month for hay and grain!! TRUE STORY!!! Now its got 78,XXX. When I registered it the DMV returned the title stamped unverified mileage. I protested... Seems some DMV Personal couldn't substantiate mileage with DMV records. READ, he/she Couldn't believe it was correct so It couldn't be true... FREAKIN' LIBERAL. :headpop: Always think they know more and do things for your "own good". But lets not get started in that subject... I finally got it all straightened out with the help and records from the previous owners. CW
  3. Looks good!! BUT.... you GOTTA chop them front fenders right behind the bumper!!!! CW
  4. XJ lifts work for MJ's only as far as FRONT SUSPENTIONS. SO, if you go with the soft ride or super ride RE lift for the XJ. The ADD-A-LEAF that comes with it for the rear, will not give you the correct amount of lift. You'll need to get a MJ ADD-A-LEAF, shackles or both. Or best idea, complete new rear leaf springs. J Trucks (FSJ's) are a total different animal. CW
  5. YUP... If its noisy...there is a problem!!!! CW
  6. Sometimes REALLY bad joints are not noticable with out removing DS entirely!!! You will feel them driving...but when you get underneath everything seems fine...untill you yank it out and ck. Good luck, CW

  8. I was certain, EAGLE got him a truck WAY BACK!!! Whats the deal here???? That is a very nice clean looking bumper!! CW
  9. What kind of question is this? ;) :D Its a FREAKIN'SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CONGRATS!!!! CW
  10. Correct-A-mundo!! :brows: It completely depends on the trim package the origional owner checked off when they bought it. CW
  11. Mine arrived today!! With a little flow chart and everything!!! NICE PRODUCT!!! CW
  12. IIRC.. Its just a tad too wide... but You'll find a solution!!! Its not awefull!!! Just check out what I had to do to get a FORD SPLASH Dbl Roll bar to fit in mine!!! CW
  13. Here is a couple pics of the burst hose and reapired cooling system... Not alot to see.... Juat glad it wasn't worse!! OH, Just for the record... Today, its 51 degrees here in my back yard today. :D CW
  14. The renix 4.0 will take a bit of cranking to fire. Just couple 3-5 seconds is normal. BUT, Are you letting the pump pressurize the system before starting? Turn the key to on, wait a couple seconds and crank. Turning the key "ON" and waiting a second, is on par with the couple quick "pumps" on the accelerator with a older carburated vehicle. When I went thru mine, (Even thou it only had 60,000 at the time.) I got minute decreases in cranking times by having everything properly set and CLEAN. TB, Plugs cap rotor, wires, injectors, TPS properly set. Wiring connections clean, weatherproof and tight. All these made minute changes, lowering the cranking times. The one biggest decrease in cranking time came when I rewired the charging system. Probably took a full second off the time!! CW
  15. I feel for ya...I really do. I'm very glad your wife is OK!! But the bottom line is, vehicles can get fixed...lives cannot always. Be glad no one got severely hurt. My wife was T-boned back in September. Rolled our Grand Cherokee two complete times and landed back on the tires. She was bruised from the safety belt and a couple small cuts her left arm when her elbow took out the side window. She is fine now and no serious injuries to either driver. Our Jeep was totalled. Other driver pulled a fast one... switched drivers and made a false report to officers...there bad. Two elderly people, snow birds from Florida. We are not legally pursuing this, but I'll bet our insurance CO will... Our insurance paid out a BIG chunk of change on our Grand!!! Only the vehicles where damaged and that's what insurance is for. I had just bought it for her last Christmas. (If you remember) CW
  16. It will ave something like this in the cab. It has little to do with the plug. The plug will be bigger and most I have and have used are the 7 pin models. You can also buy an adapter to go straight to 4 pin flat plug if you want... CW
  17. GOOD TO HEAR!!! But you painted it today??? Its friggin' 15 degrees here!!!  How cold was it in Virginia???? I am going to paint mine too...one of these days....... :brows: CW
  18. Just a quick question, I have a set of "O" Rings on the shelf.... But will these come with new ones already?? CW
  19. If we only had a nickle for everytime this one was asked that.......   :D 31's will fit, IMHO, 30x9.5x15 are all around better suited. CW
  20. Yup, I was WAY LUCKY!! I haven't gotten under and looked at the motor...but like others have said, i have seen freeze plugs blown out as well. I do not think it was a block of ice. As pointed out I had a temp reading and it changed. I think I had a "slushy" blockage in my radiator or heater core...or both!! I had some anti freeze in there, that's for absolutely certain. I just finished checking the wives and the TJ's before winter set in and topped mine off. I remember how nice a green it was.... I also remember topping it off with straight distilled water, not a mix. But If I added a quart doing that it would be allot. Lesson learned, hopefully I have prevented one of you guys a worse fate!! Get your self a tester, its cheap and could save your engine!!! CW
  21. THANKS MAN!!! I just ordered mine!!! $101.90 shipped to my door!!! CW
  22. Yup.. Here in CT we had a real drop in the temps last night. When I go up the temp was 1 degree, throw in a mild wind chill and that brings it down near 15-20 BELOW!!! Well... some months back I changed out the entire cooling system. EVERYTHING all new top to bottom. Well, I try to keep common stuff on hand here so I buy filters, brake fluid, washer fluid, anti Freeze, windshield wipers etc. When ever it goes on sale and keep a couple bottles of each on hand. I grabbed a bottle on the shelf and all I can think of is that I must have PREVIOUSLY mixed 50-50 and mixed it 50-50 AGAIN. DUMB @$$!!!! WELL, at 15-20 below it FROZE!!!!! @ 05:30 I started the MJ up and let it warm for about 5-7 Min's. Jumped in and off I went. I drive all back roads to work and its less then ten miles. Half way thru, I realize its not getting warm, OH well..it is REAL cold. I just figured its going to take a bit longer to warm up. Another mile and still no heat. I glance at the temp gauge... its 240!!!!  WTF!!! I go another mile and now I am with in 1/2 mile of work. I figure the maybe the gauge is wrong or the thermostat stuck.... NOT... All of a sudden, BOOOM, steam everywhere!!! Looked like a nascar blow out!!! Two hundred yards to the garage at the bottom of the hill from work. I pop the hood and sure enough, the front/top HEATER hose split. (Not radiator, heater) No biggie... I grab my gear and walk the remainder up the hill to the Hospital. MAN IS IT COLD in the thin lousy uniforms we have to wear!!!! A couple hours later, at coffee break, we run down and get the MJ and bring it up to our heated garage and put it inside for a thawing out. I run down for parts. A new T-stat, anti freeze, a gasket, piece of 90degree bent 3/4" hose, some oil and a filter. Our grounds guy fixes it for me while I am working. (Not to much for these guys to do grounds wise in the winter. But sand, salt the walks and plow the snow) He also checked out the T-stat, said it worked fine, opened nicely in a pot of water, on the wood stove in the barn. The guy even washed off all the nasty sticky anti freeze off the engine and fenders of the Jeep!! Gonna bring him a case of Sam in the morning, he EARNED IT. SO, long story short... I LUCKED OUT!! Looks like nothing seriously harmed but that hose and a bit of lost antifreeze. Just a little story about my day... Thanks for reading, I know your laughing WITH me, CW
  23. Your best bet is to purchase a Master Install kit from Yukon or some other manuf., as they will have everything you need to completely install a gear set. Your local parts store should be able to get that for you, or you can find some real good deals online and on eBay. HTH Ryan PARTS WISE, everything you'll need. You STILL need the knowledge and expertise as well as job specific tools. THEN you'll be all set!! ;) CW
  24. I think your dealer isn't doing you any justice....I kinda find it hard to believe a recall can "expire"?? Stranger things have happened...but. I ask you what is a recall for? Its offered by the manufacturer to correct a problem. Its done in an effort to save lives and limit manufacturer liability, by correcting a KNOWN problem. If the vehicle is registered. It has passed any state mandates upon it, making it LEGAL and safe for road use. Not fixing a known recall could conceivably make this UNSAFE. It would also open the manufacturer to LIABILITY should anything bad happen. Its in Jeeps best interest to fix this KNOWN problem. Jeep made the recall, Jeep is still in business, it should be fixed, by Jeep.....period. Not yelling at anyone here...Just kinda venting.... This kinda shirking responsibility PISSES me off!!! Also, a call to your Dept of Motor Vehicles or some such place in your state with all this information might get you somewhere. :brows: :brows: CW
