chebby drop shackles
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
schweeet.......Thanks Wade Deuce -
what year(s) chevy drop shackles work for the MJ?
-
she is bottomed out there Pete, ain't she? :D
-
well i know i have the dana 35 but i don't know how many leafs i have. i will take some pictures tomarow if you have the D35, you don't have the MT pkg. in 86 it came with the AMC20, 87 on it came with the D44. just shows again what good shape your truck is in, i.e. your stock springs still seem to be in good shape and are able to carry a load.
-
yessiree, and i bet you do based on that load you have on there. it's as simple as how many leaf springs you have. 4 is std., 5 is the Metric, or "Big Ton" pkg. the other advantage of that pkg is you'll have the D44 rear axle, much more durable than the std D35. post up some pics of your rear end, errrrr, your axle and leafs!

Let me add a little emphasis to this. N-E-V-E-R say never. Why? Because on my morning cruise around the forum about 5 mins ago I click on Pete's link to vast.com and see what's new for sale out there. Ummm, a blue and gold two-tone in Oklahoma. How crazy is that? http://www.autotraderclassics.com/details?adId=90415637 What definitely is crazy though is the near $6k he's asking for it! Oh, and did you know short beds were "rare"?

Chico my man, the PO on my truck hard wired the electric fan to the fuse box, i.e. it runs full time. Since I don't see a negative to this, other than when working on the truck and might need the key/power on to check something, I roll with it. I'm substantially below 210* almost all the time.
-
2.5L 4cyls should be no problem I believe, and 4.0's with some modification, a little more or a little less depending if it is an early or late production 86. i'll let the real experts chime in though.
-
that's a load dude! do you have the Metric Ton pkg? nice work too so far, you gots skillz :D

Uhhhhh, ya think? What MJ hasn't been "fiddled" with to some extent LOL? Repainted? Show me ANY 20yr old vehicle on the planet that has had 250k of road time with original paint that looks like that and I've got some nice swampland in Fla I'll sell you. :brows: And I'm probably wrong but I don't think I've ever seen another MJ with the blue/gold combo (which I think looks really sharp on that truck), so I'm guessing that was never even a factory color option? I'd also venture to say that accent-colored flares would be any flare that isn't std black, i.e. if it was color keyed to the body like #2s or maddzz's, so based on their "testimony" it seems like it's possible it's just another whacky a la carte Jeep. Regardless, like everyone else said, look it over closely. That nice paint could be nothing more than lipstick on a pig. Oh, and I'm with Wade, sorta. If the paint isn't just lipstick and the rest of the truck is clean i.e. no rust (interior pics look pretty decent), I'd pay in the $2's for it. $3k would probably be pushing it for me, but $2's for sure if it checked out.
-
And assuming that the clock is the same year as the Jeep. Yep. The clock plug went from 86-87 was big and blue, 88-90 was black, and 91 was white I believe. Johnny you have a PM. yup, forgot to mention all that! there's a thread on here somewhere with pics of each year and the difference in pigtails.
-
assuming you have the pigtail on the clock you got, yes....

i am interested in the red buckets also if you are getting rid of. -
yes, i believe all mj's have the pigtail in there for the clock.

Oh I understood what it was MAKING us do, I realized later today the other leagues I've played in we had 17 rounds so more opportunity to build a deep roster at RB/WR. Did we have a choice on how many rounds there were? I assume not since we did an automated draft. I've always played in leagues with a live draft, errrrr, big party with a little bit of Fantasy League going on :brows: I'm actually excited to play in a little different format plus it puts a little more emphasis on post-draft moves and strategy.
-
:laughin: I woke up on the couch last night about 130am and realized I hadn't even looked at it yet. Created a draft order list, looked over a few other things, and hit save. AFTER it wouldn't let me create my own draft order even though you don't HAVE to have 2 TE's on your roster. I just looked at the draft results and if I could have drafted my 4th back where I wanted I would have gotten LenDale White. Yeah, he sucks.....NOT! It's all good, should be fun!
-
So who put some effort in to their draft rankings and order etc? I was mad because this is the first time I've done an automated draft and unless I missed something, it would not let me NOT draft a 2nd tight end and/or defense. I wanted to draft another RB instead of a friggin back-up tight end when I set my draft order but it wouldn't let me. Oh well, turned out pretty good anyway. I've already post a couple of add/drops. :brows:

You actually have a pretty good team Pete. Keep your eyes open the first few weeks and pick up a couple free agents for some of the dead weight and you could do very good. Nah, Pete's Team Blows, your just trying to over-inflate his hopes... Crush his spirit!!! This is serious business... SW2 Pete, you obviously did not talk to Matt Millen before the draft about your strategy, otherwise you would have taken a wide reciever first!

No Radio or Clock memory
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
where might i find the above referenced items? are you saying this should be visible on the back of the clock? -
G-man, that dealer has some pretty good prices. yeah JT, that guy has been in richmond for YEARS. he gets a lot of higher mileage imports in good shape that he sells for cheap too. i think he gets a lot of repo cars from the banks too. sells a lot to the bling crowd. Willy, thanks for pointing that out before I did. If that was true, the 6.5 would still be in production and GM wouldn't be the sinking ship that it is.
-
here you go pete. and it's already got 22's on it and purple metal flake paint! http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?c ... id=1392578

No Radio or Clock memory
WahooSteeler replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes and no. EVERY deck I've ever worked with had yellow for battery (constant), red for switched, and black for ground (obviously). I just pointed out that the speaker wire colors matched to eliminate anyone thinking I maybe had a speaker wire hooked to a power supply by accident. Jeepco, that is most likely true. The PO seemed to be completely fascinated with the concept of splicing. There are strange remnants of wiring all over the place. I'll check again, but I think I looked at that before and the clock wires traced back on their own. I have the manual, technically it's hooked up right. In fact, I ran wires straight from an accessory post and a battery post on my fuse panel to the deck. Same thing. Powered up but no memory once the key was off. Also, have checked all the fuses 3 catrillion times. -
Yeah, but who's "they"? That truck makes me want to change my rules a bit. :brows: Too bad it probably would cost too much. Excursions aren't any wider than a regular Ford superduty truck. Duellys are like 2 feet wider than regular pickups. That black Dodge above is a dually. Notice the extra wide stance in the rear. On a weird side note, the pull-your-part near me had a wrecked Centurion conversion in it not too long ago. If I had unlimited funds I might find one of those and pimp it out with a new drivetrain. :D Hey JT.............. :nanner:
