  1. I knew you weren't no worries. I really should have taken a picture or two and documented things a little better in one place. the one thing i'd be concerned with if i was the OP would be double checking to see if any of the XJ cab connectors changed between 92 and 94. I linked an FSM, between that link and your diagrams, he should be covered.
  2. I think there's a misunderstanding here, it only took a moment to get my brake lights working properly by running a wire from the brake light switch to the turn signal connector on the steering column. That was the last step, after rearranging the wires in the cab connector to match the XJ dash harness. Matching up the dash harness with the rear cab harness took a little longer but wasn't too bad. The '92 XJ dash harness has two 16 pin connectors going to the back of the cab (gray and black), the 92 MJ only has one (black) 16 pin connector. In order to match things up easily, I grabbed the gray connector from the cab harness out of a jy XJ. Took apart the black MJ connector and along with the gray XJ cab connector, put the pins back to match as many of the pins from the XJ dash harness as i could. Same process you laid out earlier in this thread, only the wiring had changed over the years. Last post of this thread, lists the 92 XJ rear harness pin outs and rear cab pin outs for a 92 MJ. Second post of this thread covers the pin outs for the wire i had to run from the stop lamp switch to the turn signal connector. The thread also has a link to an older thread that has more good wiring info. Not sure if any of this applies to your harness or the OPs question because of the wiring differences between years.
  3. The wire run between the brake switch and the turn signal connector? I've put '92XJ and '96XJ harnesses in MJs, and that only took a moment, so i'm curious why you are looking for another option. Or is it more involved with the pre-HO harnesses?
  4. I don't have an answer for you, but here is a link that will help: 1994 FSM Its a large download, ~75MB, but i wouldn't tackle a rewiring job without one.
  5. maybe there's a bunch of crud on the reverse torx bolt keeping the e12 from fitting?
  6. scans from the XJ/MJ 91 FSM for power mirrors, windows and door locks
  7. there was a thread or two a while back about loose steering columns. Did a search and found this one: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15259&hilit=steering+column there's a link in that thread to another site with a howto on disassembling GM based columns.
  8. No i don't know him personally, all i did was link his own words. His words, where he goes on and on about learning from his experiences and trying to do right from that point forward. Something he should have been applauded for, if he followed up...but from his actions on this board it doesn't look like he's learned a thing. A responsible person would have squared up with these guys before disappearing from the board, even if it was a couple bucks here and there. These guys have given him the benefit of the doubt, been patient and all they've received for their understanding are excuses, lies and eventually silence. Come to think of it, i don't want to know anybody like that personally.
  9. The guy has a history long before he started screwing people here: http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=971291 I had a lot of members here who i've never met/spoken to outside of this board step up and help me out when i was getting screwed. LoTGoD, 87mjdriver, i hope some of the members here local to this deadbeat step up for you guys.
  10. Search is your friend. A search by post for z34 brings up two big pictures. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13318&p=165748&hilit=z34#p165748
  11. you have two image tags.
  12. So where would the XJ and Grand Cherokee be on the list if they were separated by year like the rest of those vehicles? There are 13 years worth of XJs and 10 years worth of Grand Cherokees eligible for the CARS program, yet the article lumped them together for this list. Lies, damn lies and statistics... And i'm not defending the CARS program or endorsing crushing any Jeep. Just pointing out some lousy writing.
  13. No problem, all i did was add http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/ in front of what was already there. Forum software automatically cuts that off in links to other local threads. did you preview your post, then cut and paste the preview into your submitted post? When you cut and paste a previewed post, its treated as plain text. Since that plain text is now missing part of the url (the "http://www.comancheclub.com/forums/" automatically cut off by the forum software), it's no longer complete....and treated like any other plain old text. Apologies to the OP for moving off topic.
  14. Here you go... viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16115&hilit=power+windows viewtopic.php?f=2&t=16111&hilit=power+windows viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14944&hilit=power+windows viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14582&hilit=power+windows viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12970&hilit=power+windows

  16. Frame or tracks and what year XJ seats are you asking about? Here is a writeup on how to get pre ~94 XJ tracks to work in an MJ: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8093
  17. Its also been around for a couple of years and discussed around here a few times before viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6719 viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5850 viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4186
  18. Remains from the pre-first day of work at the new job haircut.
  19. yup...clock wiring should be same as any other clock from '84-'86. Here's a copy of the wiring diagram i have for the full system: http://www.knwd.net/images/MJ/sentry.pdf Hooked up some of the system temporarily before i tore down my truck. Instead of cutting into the dash harness or clock harness, made a little adapter from some junkyard pigtails. Never could figure out what to do with the "Engine Off In" pin that goes to the Choke Heater Relay. I think that's why i had some lights on the monitor go on when i turned the ignition off.
  20. anytime...been following your build, that's some nice work you are doing. I've got one of those sentry systems in a box somewhere, waiting to see how far you get with it....
  21. That link will work too. I would have sworn that troy6187 posted the same info in another thread that i replied in...but i'm probably remembering wrong. I don't even want to think about what sorry shape my truck would be if it wasn't for this forum.
  22. No problem, i remember sitting there staring at page after page of the FSM going thru all the same things. Hopefully you'll have stop lights tonight.
  23. It's 11 pins on the '91/92 column, is it different on your steering column? The chart below the diagram on p.104 of the '91 FSM lists pin P twice (one for MJ, ones for XJ), so it has 12 rows, but really only 11 pins. Don't have an older manual, but that wire sounds like the difference between the MJ and XJ dash harness and what you need to get the stop lights working. On the '91/92 XJ dash harness, the L50 wire continues out of the brake switch and into the rear cab harness. You shouldn't have to do anything else. You're right, most of those wires coming out go to add ons like cruise 1 V32 YL/RD to Ignition of ECU and speed control switch 2 L50 WT/TN to rear lighting via cab harness 3 K29 WT/PK TCU 4 V30 DB/RD speed control servo 5 L9 PK/BK Hazard Flasher in fuse box 6 Z1 BK Chime Module pin A2 Seems that way. Not sure why they decided to wire it one way in the XJ and differently in the MJ.
  24. I couldn't find the thread i used to get me started when i did this. Short version, i ran a wire from the #2 pin on the stop lamp switch on the brake pedal to the the P pin on the turn signal connector on the steering column (the long, flat one with 11 connectors, see page 104 in the '91 electrical FSM). IIRC pin P is empty on the XJ connector, so you may want to scavenge a pin from an old harness to use. I was going from a 91/92 dash harness to a 91/92 cab harness, not sure how your mix and match wiring would change things. I've since swapped out that harness for a '96, so the '92 harness is in a box and easily photographed it that would help.
  25. mfpdm did a nice write up on this in the DIY section: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11719
