  1. nah, it's cool. I just wish I had the cash sitting around, since the room to store extra ones is now available. 4.0 tranny won't just bolt up to a 2.8 though. CL post also doesn't mention if it's an auto or 5 speed.
  2. I wish. No $$$ though, especially with the events of getting down here. Really sucks too, I'd like to go get it.
  3. Why do you want to level it out? The rake looks nice.
  4. Trying replacing the O2 sensor.
  5. How's the main ground from the back of the block to the firewall? I've had loose grounds cause varying connection problems before.
  6. There should be a vacuum routing diagram on your firewall.
  7. Oh, and by "good" I mean; 1. Intact 2. 2 inch receiver. If it's smaller, don't bother. :ack:
  8. Like maybe a discount on a certain HO engine? :brows: Rob L. That's what I was thinking.
  9. Found it viewtopic.php?f=2&t=18111
  10. You can buy new Metric Ton springs, I don't remember where. I think there was a thread recently about it.
  11. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18276 Yeah... not the most thrilling state. Luckily I usually just have to drive through it. It had a small oil leak from when I bought it... but so did every 4.0 I've ever had. Right before the oil change/VC change(did at the same time), the leak had started to get worse. Before the VC change the pressure stayed right about 40, then afterwords jumped up to 60-70 while operating and about 35 at idle. I guess I'm taking a break from the procedure cause it's raining and there's like an 80% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, but if I get a break from the rain I'll run out there and see what I can pull apart on the CCV system. I'm hoping that there's something plugged, and that that was the problem.
  12. Find yourself some stock Metric Ton leafs. I believe they had an extra leaf, were significantly stiffer, and had more of an arch to them.
  13. Lemme know if you find a good XJ trailer hitch. I'll find someway to pay for it..
  14. Well we're coming back on Monday, so that wouldn't work. If it was just me I'd probably swing by, but with the GF and a 5 week old baby, doesn't seem like a truck get-together is very feasible.
  15. Ugh, this is becoming difficult. Took me forever to get the pan out, had to disconnect the oil pump, shocks, steering, sway bar, and track bar. I did luck out though... the pan at least has been off before, it had a one piece rubber gasket. I'm still replacing it, but at least I won't have to scrape. I cannot get the top seal out. Every time I hit the punch, it slips off the cord inside the seal, and I'm already worried I may have damaged the sealing surface inside the block. Another concern is this- There's two noticeable grooves in the bearing, and there's a small burr at one end. :fs1: I'm gonna give that a shot when I go back out. But I'm slowly losing daylight, I may have to continue this tomorrow morning.
  16. The problem with the tail lights, I believe, only applies if you're using an XJ harness, as XJ tail lights operate differently than MJ ones.
  17. Well I wasn't able to borrow one, so this afternoon I just ran into O'reilly's again and bought one. Surprisingly cheaper than I'd thought they would be, so I got the clicker one instead of the twin bar one. So, I'm lunging into it tomorrow. Hopefully I won't run into any problems...
  18. Well, we didn't make it home, we made it to where we were going. Tomorrow I'm doing the RMS, and hopefully that was all it was, and we won't have any problems on the way home on Monday. How from that station are you? If it's not far, I'm certainly opening to meeting up anyway and seeing the MJ.
  19. I appreciate the offer, but I'm hoping to tear into it as soon as I get ahold of a torque wrench. If you were coming out on Friday and I'm still having problems with it, and you don't mind the drive, I'd certainly welcome some help.
  20. That sounds like a GENIUS idea.
  21. 4.10 or 4.56 IIRC
  22. Is there anything else wrong with it, or just a shot motor?
  23. 2.5s run at 70 mph with 4.10s and smaller wheels all the time without breaking. If you bump yourself up to 31s, you'll be just fine.
  24. I picked up the gaskets today... but freakin nobody around here has anything brass. Punches or scrapers. I'm also having trouble tracking down a torque wrench. I really don't want to drive almost an hour just to "borrow" one. I should know by tomorrow if one of the neighbors has one.
