  1. I just ran into a similar situation. I was able to use a hand pump through the return hose to get it low enough to pull the pump
  2. Ordered the sending unit from eBay. I have the new pump already so I ordered the bare unit. Also got a new tank and straps on the way!
  3. Pm sent guys.
  4. Yup. It looks like you have to contact them to make an order? I don't see an online store. Thanks.
  5. Still looking for a bench seat!
  6. Got the tank pulled. Given the time available to work on the truck and the cost of the parts. I'll be ordering a new tank and sending unit. Where is the preferred place to purchase the sending unit?
  7. Got the carrier out. And got a better look at the damage. Lost a tooth on the ring gear and the pinion. The carrier also got chewed up. As well as some bolts broken off inside. I have been cleaning and draining little by little. After that I decided I'd try and get the truck to fire up. Fresh battery and some fiddling with the battery cables it turns over. But I can't get the fuel pump to run. Jumped the relay and bypasses the resistor and nothing. 12v to the pump... Nothing. New pump comes tomorrow. I decided I would pull the tank so I could get it cleaned out. (10+ year old gas stinks) Got everything loosened up and ready to drop after I syphon the gas out. Then I moved to the cab. I pulled the seats and yanked the vinyl off the floor. I figured it would be some surface rust down in the footwells but was surprised to see it also rusty running back up towards the rear. I didn't get pictures but I'm guessing a rear window leak. I think it should clean up without having to do any surgery. I think my plan of attack is going to be pull the bed and get the frame and underside of the bed cleaned up and painted. Then pull all the front suspension off and clean and paint the front half of the undercarriage as well as new bushings in the front end. Fix a few things here and there and get it painted and be on my way!
  8. Well not a full year has went by! I pulled the truck home and got it in the shop. Felt ambitious and pulled the 8.8 out. It's funny seeing my welds from when I was in highschool. ( I'm a welder fabricator by trade now) also being reminded about my "temporary" brake line set up. Anyways. I got the axle on stands and started tearing into it. I pulled the Aussie locker out and started trying to snatch the carrier out. It seems loctite wasn't used on the ring gear and the bolts backed out. I plan to replace with a limited slip and new gears.
  9. The "idea" is to mold from an original
  10. He has not. Frankly i haven't either. Do we have any pics I could show him?
  11. Let me start off by saying I do not want to get anyone's hopes up. This is just an idea right now. Thinking through my build and dreading having to remove the rear slider got me thinking. My dad has a background in rubber compounding and molding. I asked him if he thought we could reproduce these. He seems to think its possible by using one to make a mold. Would there be a market for these? Does anyone see any issues that we may not be?
  12. Hmmm the ultra rare 4.0 v6!
  13. This thread needs more pics!
  14. Thats a pretty sought after welding machine in the back of that truck believe it or not
  15. CC should sens key parts a fruit basket or something at Christmas. Awesome to see a company making parts for these trucks
  16. Id agree. Ive never seen a factory bumper in person. But I see lots of mangled ones in pics. The fey is stout
  17. Fey bumpers are popular. They are a generic replacemt step bumper. Google brings up multiple places to purchase. My truck came with one.
  18. 93 chevy work truck. @13 years old 06 grand cherokee 65th edit. 88 mj. Still got it! 11 silverado z71. Sold at 180k. Should of kept 70 ford f350 flatbed 7? Ford dump truck. Never put a tag on it 95 Chevy 3500 flatbed 77 cj5. Should of kept 02 f350 7.3 flatbed 19 2500 silverado duramax
  19. Almost a year later. And the truck hasn't moved. Once i have the grading done arpund my shop I'll bring it home. I did pick up a set of fenders with flares and liners. Chrome Front bumper. Chrome grille amd header panel Doors and door panels from another member here! So thats a start!
  20. Could the base be 3d printed and use a readily available off the shelf lens?
  21. Thanks guys. It shoukdnt have been that hard. It took them a year to come out and install. The slab is a disaster if you walk to fast across it you get seasick. And it has multiple cracks. Maybe one day I'll do a full write up of all the shenanigans that went on. But I'm happy its up and once I start turning wrenches and fabbing stuff up I'll forget all about it
  22. Lol. I do plan on building an airplane in here after my jeep is up and running.
  23. Its been a long painful process. That's putting it lightly. Lots of quality issues and just poor communication. But its up. The crew finished in July. I had a punch list. They came back and did half of the fixes. Some angry calls back and forth etc. Oh well. Its up. I wired in its own 200 amp service. 110 outlet every other post. 20 8' led lights. I need to run my 220 plugs for welder compressor lathe mill etc. But that dang wire is so expensive! Right now I'm hanging metal siding on the interior walls. I tore down the old shed and moved all that junk in. Once it dries up it will be finished graded. Gravel. Then mive in for real!
  24. Besides the one i see parked in a yard close to my house... I saw a nice red long bed on the road yesterday! Its been a while since ive seen an mj
  25. No longer needed!
