  1. I never plan to have this MJ off the road especially since I will be painting it nicely. That is why I use my LJ for going off road! All this talk about polishing shafts is making me hungry.
  2. They are called shims and can be bought in the HELP! section of most automatic parts stores.
  3. Pics are working for me. They are all from my build on CherokeeForum. You are linking to uploaded attachments on Cherokee Forum that require a valid logged in account on that site to view them. So no, they are not working. :P
  4. Thanks for posting the pics. Those ears are big. I didn't know you had fitted an alloy drive shaft? Must have missed that in your build threads. By the way it's machined, the drive shaft yoke looks like it doesn't allow too severe of a pinion operating angle. Zebvance on here sold it to me for cheap. It was not working out for him at a higher lift height and I thought I could make it work. I have mostly made it work, but I suspect it is still lightly touching while coasting. Currently it is running at 11º at the pinion yoke and 12º at the transfer case yoke. There is a light rattling sort of noise when coasting that sounds to be from the transfer case chain. My plan is to rebuild my LJ's spare NP231 with a SYE and get an appropriate steel drive shaft made for it. That will be a few months though.
  5. Got a pic of your pinion yoke setup Alex? Nice video too. It is really easy to see where the straps were smacking into the yoke on the drive shaft. Those yoke ears are big!
  6. Kind of hard to mix paint that is already in a spray can. Yes, it would need more black to darken the color.
  7. All of stock agate interior pieces in my MJ that are not from the dash are lighter than the dash. The SEM paint may be formulated to match those and not whatever the dash color should be. There is something around three different agate colors, but they all use the same name. My dash is the darkest, the kick panels a little lighter, and then my center console is much lighter. I have another center console here that is darker than the center console I installed. :/ If the pieces are all pulled from the same XJ they will match since they were all done using the same mixture of colored plastic. So when it comes to matching with SEM it may end up requiring a custom mixed paint.
  8. I am wondering if that was a 4WD conversion since it has the 1997+ shifter and bezel there.
  9. As I promised when I bought the MJ from you I will bring it back for a visit. Just let me know when! Either the original Grenadine Red done professionally or matte color done myself. Doing it myself in matte is about 10% of the cost which is what I am leaning towards. I already spent about $15,000 on this project.
  10. I had some insane spring wrap on braking that was causing the pinion yoke straps to hit the overly sized aluminum yoke on the drive shaft. I installed leaf spring clamps on the front of the overload leafs and that solved the issue as well as reducing the variance in the pinion angle.
  11. When I do the supercharger setup it is likely it will require one to fit it under there.
  12. I painted and installed the front bumper. Uh, that is about it! I added another 1.5 quarts of ATF+4 to the transmission since it took two trips up and down the street to get it fully circulated and drop the level down below the "OK" mark.
  13. Looks like newer more expensive stock is rolling into places.
  14. Six left in stock. http://www.amazon.com/Rubicon-Express-RE1345-Coil-Spring/dp/B006GJK8MY
  15. The turning radius on my MJ is better than my LJ.
  16. There are for bad people! They display to yourself to show if you have been bad. Realistically we do not use the warning system here yet since most offenses are from spammers and we just ban those people.
  17. I did a 30+ mph run the down the street. Braking over 30mph causes enough axle wrap to bind the rear u-joint on the axle shaft. Lots more work to do then. :D
  18. Jeep 2500 conversion parts from China. There is another member on the forums with a similar truck, but is missing the matching front bumper.
  19. I JUST DROVE IT DOWN THE STREET! YESH! I can not stop screaming I am SO HAPPY! One minor issue! The transmission shifter cable debonded from the grommet in the firewall so the cable is just sliding around instead of actually shifting. This happened RIGHT as I went to drive it. > :( Going to have to cleverly clamp it inside the cab to keep it from moving. Genright's Jeep fuel cell unit. Accepts many Jeep fuel pump assemblies and other compatible Chrysler units from 1997-2012.
  20. The engine had been running ten minutes prior to this. Notice the 210F on the temperature gauge. :) I shut off the engine then remembered that I should shoot a video or something. I figured out how to reprogram the gauge clusters. I actually have four spare gauge clusters sitting here to sell eventually. http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1098819
  21. The fuel cell is in, but I forgot to take pictures of it. The Dakota fuel pump works great though!
  22. Correct! I actually only have the bottom hole drilled on the driver's side right now and that holes the door shut. So if the person doing this can not weld and needs to take it somewhere to have it done then one bolt is sufficient to keep the door shut. My welds are visually crap since I get shaky when trying to weld.
  23. My strikers lined up in nearly the exact spot on each side. The top hole aligns with the horizontal center of the large hole for the original MJ striker. I needed the washer welded in place to close up the one side of the hole I drilled and cover up the giant hole in general. The bottom hole for the new striker is drilled after adjusting the door closing position based on the top hole. The other way I marked the position for the striker was to put the striker in the door latch, put wet paint on the top and bottom edges, and then close the door carefully. The paint smears on the metal to roughly show where it needs to sit.
  24. Your truck is too perfectly 1980s to do that to it! :( Guess I will have to find those tail lights some where then.
  25. This is bad, I have invoked the chrome freak! D: I plan on cleaning up the chrome windshield trim and putting the chrome drip rail covers back on. It would be nice if I could find a decent pair of chrome trimmed tail lights. Though, I believe those were just chrome paint so I could easily replicate that.
