how is it that there isn't an MJ no-start flow chart yet?  it just seems logical to me that this would exist, even if it was just the more basic things.  I say we should put one together. :D

and yes, thanks to facebook my brain may have actually snapped from one too many "my truck doesn't start, what's wrong with it" posts.

Let's do it.

No Start should not include No Crank and Faulty Battery/Charging system. No Start should assume these sub-systems are operating properly. If necessary give each one of these their own flow chart. Now we're down to 22 pages.

I'd be happy to contribute to the additional page an HO addendum will require.  I think items should probably be noted as HO/Renix and whether or not you need special tools and what they are to perform tests.  Items that can be done on the roadside without tools should be highlighted.  And don't assume anybody knows anything.  I think you'd be surprised what some people  will do when you tell them to probe their TPS.

anyone started this?  I'd love to help, but I'm probably shouldn't be the guy to start planning out the organization.

We can link to individual posts, yes?

Yeah we can. Individual posts within a topic.

It would be a huge undertaking to set up a single topic, but once a flowchart was established, it would be a fairly simplistic way of creating an interactive element to it within the existing infrastructure of this forum. It might be a little annoying to click through I suppose, and like a choose-your-own-adventure novel you definitely couldn't make sense out of the topic just by reading it linearly. But it would make it easy(ish) to add info to each process or decision point if something needed improved or corrected after everything went together.

Why reinvent the wheel?? The Renix factory service manuals surely have a flow chart for this condition? I know the Chrysler FSMs do.

What you say is true. FSMs do contain flow charts used for troubleshooting, but your FSMs are not updated with TSBs, special bulletins, full size replacement sticky pages w/corrections or 30+ years of experience.
