Rear bumper

Recommended Posts

Will do,thanks.

I want to mount winch to plate that'll plug into a hitch so I can use it

front and rear,I suppose a hitch will work as well as a bumper.

I have factory step bumper now,it's getting pretty ugly after 20 years,

and no hitch reciever.

Again,thanks for the idea.

They offer THIS mounting kit.

I replace one couple years ago, and I had to "re-drill" the brackets to get the step bumper to fit correct. But I also replaced an after market step bumper, not the factory step bumper. I can take some pictures of the brackets. there kind of like a C channel, and hang out past the tail gate about 5 inches.

A factory bumper is required for a u-haul hitch or any other hitch to work on an MJ. If you look at any towing companies product catalog there is a footnote that states "will fit with factory stp bumper only. I found this out when looking for mine as it has the weston replacement bumper on it.

That's true. The U-haul hitch brackets use the same holes as the factory bumper brackets and fit inside. But I think with shims you could install it w/o a factory bumper.
