Bumber + Overall

Recommended Posts

I got an 88 jeep comanche in good condition. and i finally wanna add on to its off road look and quality with a bumper, a whinch, fog lights and an overall bar.

\where do i find products that fit my baby.

it looks a lot like the cherokee from that time around has about the same measurements.

i don't find much for the comanche specifically please send me links with what i can use

As for the front end stuff, doors forward, anything for a XJ will fit your MJ.

Unsure what an "overall" bar is but if there is such a thing for the front of a XJ, its very likely it will bolt right up to your MJ as well!!

Out back things are a bit different......

I ordered mine, when he first came out with the FBW. It took 4 weeks from when I ordered it, till when I got it :dunno: Kinda a long wait for a bumper. But Terry at rigico was very cool to deal with. no issues what so ever. The installation was easy, directions were nice. The welds and fitment were great. I have been abusing my bumper now for 1.5 yrs with no issues. :D I see they also have gone up in price since I bought mine as well :chillin:

I know how much steel has gone up :agree: We just used over 250' of 1.75x.120 DOM on my rig  Needless to say my steel bill was up there a lil bit  But all that means is I will be wheeling on 35's a lil longer. 42's and building D60's front and rear gets expensive quick :deal:

I just bought $426 Cnd worth of steel.

Ya, but that works out to about $2.50 US. :D

I usually try and hide my steel. I just set a couple of pieces out in the garage at a time.

I was unable to find any cage that was a direct weld in. The only thing I could find when I was searching was modified Toyota, and XJ cages, unless you go custom  If you go custom like I did, expect to pay around 50-65 dollars an hour for labor plus supplies :brows: it is not a cheap propostition when you use the correct steel. Also plan on spending a few bucks on the tear out, unless you work with a cool shop.

That's why I did the vast majority of the prep work for my rollbar and tried to keep the design as simple as possible. Plus I found a local guy that did quality fab work out of his garage (and yes, I examined his work before letting him touch my baby).

ARB makes top quality work, problem is it is heavy and reaaly BIG, which equals more in shipping. I think the shipping on my FBW was around 60 bucks, where as the cheapest I could get an ARB shipped was a lil over 100.
