Pete M Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Hopefully I won't jinx myself, but I should be picking this bad-boy up tomorrow. :D Professionally built with 4.10s, a full spool and disk brakes. It's not as pretty as the pic shows, but only 3 months old. The guy kept breaking the front axle and is now upgrading to 60s. Now I can finally replace my wounded 9". :D
Pete M Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 Not until I have it securely strapped to the trailer. :brows: The best part is that I have 2 center sections to sell and recoup all the costs. I love free upgrades!
89eliminator Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 it must be a pretty good deal if you won't tell us :D
Pete M Posted March 1, 2008 Author Posted March 1, 2008 It is a decent deal. Not quite a "JeepcoMJ" level of deal, but I'm happy.
Geonovast Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 It is a decent deal. Not quite a "JeepcoMJ" level of deal, but I'm happy. lol
aemsee Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Hmmmmm....those don't look like 5x4.5 axles sittin there. What you runnin in the front?
JeepcoMJ Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 It is a decent deal. Not quite a "JeepcoMJ" level of deal, but I'm happy. lol. now at level 57 of comanchemaster...
Pete M Posted March 2, 2008 Author Posted March 2, 2008 Hmmmmm....those don't look like 5x4.5 axles sittin there. What you runnin in the front? 78 Ford dana 44 with the Ford radius arms. I've got a 9" in the rear of my 88 already, but it's hurt, the posi is completely dead, and the brakes are the original issued parts from Ford. :(
Pete M Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 Oh, yeah, it's mine. :jump: Totally worth the 300 I spent on it. The disks are F-150 fronts that were machined out to fit the shaft and the calipers are Chevys. No more peg-leg hill climbs for me.
89eliminator Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 $300!!!!! that is a deal and a half! no wonder you didnt want to tell anyone the price.
bpm4x4 Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I paid $300 for mine too!! But that was without the center section.
Pete M Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 Ouch. Now I feel even better about my find. :D It's exactly what I needed. I've got disks already set up, and a locked 4.10 center section that I can use right now to replace the broken one in the truck. Now I'm free to choose either putting off swapping in my 4.88 geared axles in the garage or just settle on 4.10s and sell off the 4.88s. Decisions, decisions...

Pete M Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 Eh, the 4.10s have worked fine so far. What I really want is to swap in the new (to me) engine. :brows: That'll perk it up way more than an extra 0.78 in axle ratio. :D
