What do you think Jeep was thinking?

I was looking through my parts today and came across some ‘91 clocks, the ones with the five front panels. The bottom two panels have a block off plate with holes in the body. What do you think they were going to put there?

Probably more information lights. Since it’s 91 only who actually knows what Chrysler was planning.

I've wondered about that also -- the only thing that came to mind was maybe a potential diesel variant in some other market?? Hard to say as that clock shape is unique to MJ/ XJ only.

That would be cool (no pun intended). Our '97 XJ has an overhead console with outside temperature, average fuel economy, etc. Makes it seem a little more modern and kinda fun, but certainly not critical.
