JimManche17
I am looking at options for rear trailer hitches as I need one to tow my bass boat around. I see they don't make any aftermarket ones for our trucks. What have you guys done I see some universal kits you can weld up has anyone done that before?
89 MJ
@krustyballer16 makes them. Check out his posts in the Vendors section.
Pete M
if you can weld, you can buy his side brackets separate from a whole unit and grab a hitch from an Excursion from a local junkyard. I did that to the 88 I was working on. I used the excursion after failing to find a single pickup that had a wide enough hitch (they all seem to go between the inner frame walls rather than the MJ's outside-to-outside). dasbulliwagen
The one from Krusty is well made and worth the price. You'll need to paint it, but that's no big deal.

TX_Heat
If you have the FEY/Westin bumper you can look for a Reese 37042 universal receiver hitch. I was able to find one locally for $40 a few weeks back and got it mounted recently.

I have a Fey Westin bumper and just mount a ball to the bumper, however it results in a very high hitch point.

I saw the combo mentioned here on the forum and usually a link to this post on an XJ forum.
