EdJarHead
Front axle on my 1988 Comanche is pushed slightly to the passenger side (maybe an inch?). Previous owner had installed a new heavy duty fixed track bar, and I assumed it was too long. Bought a closeout from RockAuto, but it appears to be the same length (31-1/4 inches measured straight from center bolt to center bolt). Geometry wasn't my best grade in school, but looking at this, it appears that I need a shorter track bar to pull the axle more toward the driver side. Anyone know of an adjustable option that shortens this? Could it be that the track bar was not installed properly causing this off center situation? I've changed all bushings on the front end and when I drive it feels a bit loose when turning right.
89 MJ
Can you post pictures of both track bar mounts? I wonder if you have a different frame side or axle side mount.
ThatJeepGuy
^^ this would speed up things ^^ There is only one mounting hole for the track bar on your axle side bracket right?
EdJarHead
Photos showing track bar installation. Other than the missing grease fitting, it appears right to my amateur eyes.
ThatJeepGuy
My theory now.... your coil springs are wore out enough to where you are technically below factory suspension height enough to where the axle is off center. If you think about it, a simple lift puck would separate the body form the axle more and therefor the axle would follow the ARC and the axle would shift closer to the driver side therefore centering the axle. Prognosis is you need a lift kit now ;)

(which grows faster than I can check things off sometimes).

Honestly stock replacements would be fine as well. Crown dual rate factory springs and the dorman factory leafs are a cheap solution
ghetdjc320
How are you measuring the axle offset?
EUREKA
If you end up needing it, JKS HD Adjustable Front Track Bar I had one of these on a ZJ for many years and I liked it.

Mostly visual, as the passenger tire sits outside the fender flare while the driver side sits inside. Put a level on it for a rough measurement/confirmation when I was working on suspension bushing renewal.
Flexj
I have been using a Core4x4 adjustable trac bar with their HD trac bar mount/bracket for like 7 years now... Its been great! And IIRC is rated from 0-6" of lift. I would 100% recommend it. With that being said, I agree with the previous commenter that your springs are probably too worn out to justify a adjustable trac bar... If you replace them youd probably be happy with the trac.
