Oh $#!& I might have made have made a horrible mistake. I bought an iron rock off-road 3 link kit for my truck. All the research I did indicated that a well designed 3 link is just as stable on the highway or while towing. In fact many seem to believe that longer arms that are more parallel to the road ride better period. I might be misunderstanding the differences here. I had always thought that a 3 link could be stable on the highway and while towing as long as the geometry was set up correctly. Things like link separation, caster, track bar angle, and joint condition seem to matter a lot for how the front end behaves under load. It makes sense to me that a poorly designed or worn 3 link could feel loose, especially with tongue weight on the back of the truck. But I had assumed that a well laid out long arm 3 link would track straight and handle towing without any drama. If there is something specific about the 3 link layout that makes it inherently less stable at highway speed or with a trailer, I would actually like to understand that better. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what part of the geometry would cause that.

How do you like the iron rock off-road 3 link? Any noticable improvement in handling or just suspension articulation? -
Radiator and efan recomendations please

So the fan clutch from the ZJ will be slightly more parasitic and slight louder buy cooler better? I do have a 136 amp alt but yeah i think I will not go with the 3 fan set up. I found my flowkooler to be a decent upgrade. -
Radiator and efan recomendations please

I think this is the route I will go. My clutch was at most 5 years old but both of my fans toast from the car wreck, as well as the shroud for the mechanical fan. -

Even at low engine rpm? Maybe I'll stick with the stock fan set up. -
Due to a auto accident I have to replace my radiator and AC condenser. My aux trans cooler appears undamaged. I do tow every week. Sometimes nearing 5000 pounds. I was considering eliminating the mechanical fan ans getting an all aluminum radiator with e-fans. Any recommendations? Thanks

Working on a parts list. Looking for opinions and advice. My goals are a small lift, account for added weight of winch bumper, improve handling and braking, and improve off road performance in terms of traction (I've installed Detroit Truetracs jeeps in other jeeps Ive owned and loved them). -
Thanks Trey!

I Thanks for the info. I think I'm going with the iron rock set up.

It's a real pain in the @$$ to deal with a company that is only on Facebook. Bad dad fab is my last resort because of this.

Perfect practical solution.

They do indeed. Thank you. https://alpinepeakprecision.com/wp/shop/product/xj-front-hidden-winch-bumper/ Description says, Not sure what to think about that. I need to go look at my truck and see what the issue is with fitment.

Yes that is a concern.

My crossmemeber was bent in my recent auto accident. So I was hoping for a system that goes inside of the frame rails rather than outside of them, so that the kit helps me get the spacing of my frame rails back where they should be.

$527.33 for the iron rock bumper, including shipping.

Cutting the front plate (lower front crossmember?) shouldn't matter if the kit reinforces the structure better than the factory plate. I feel like I'm missing something here?
-
I'll check out the iron rock off road one. I'm interested in baddadfab but their only web presence seems to be Facebook which I don't have. I'll have to get on my wife's account to look at them. Thanks for the suggestions.

I would love to buy a boostwerks comp mount, if they still sold them. Is anyone making something similar?

Well it's time to get her back on the road. I believe I will take everything apart and do a detailed damage assessment on September 16th. I can't imagine failing to take the opportunity to make some improvements. - frame stiffeners - stronger lower cross member thing - front winch bumper (would have gone with dirtbound but they seem to be no longer taking orders) - steering and brake upgrade (probably means larger wheels - rebuild rear diff (probably install a detroit truetrac I really like them) - maybe a lift. Not more than 3" - electric fan conversion
