ghetdjc320 Posted April 16 Share Posted April 16 I'm reinstalling my tailgate and need to see how the lower hinge pivot points are mounted to the body. These are the ones that mount near the taillights. It looks like there is some sort of bolt and nut on one side and a smaller bolt going into a threaded hole. 89 MJ Posted April 16 Share Posted April 16 If I’m understanding this correctly (doubtful, I haven’t messed with an MJ tailgate in probably 5 years), these are the two holes you’re talking about, right? If so, I think that the hole towards the rear of the truck is threaded and the other hole is a locating hole for a round tab on the hinge pivot.
