1989 Sportruck in a yard in Moss Landing, CA (Bay Area).

4.0, 5 speed

Looks like a fairly base 2wd from the pictures. Fairly straight, but lots of the exterior MJ specific parts were already grabbed.

That thing is too straight and clean to be in there. Rip

My thoughts exactly! That truck is nicer than mine was

It was definitely a shame to see it in there. Whoever scrapped it clearly didn't even try to sell it, because someone definitely would've snapped it up. It was a typical CA truck, totally rust free. I grabbed a bunch of parts on it at least, so it won't go completely to waste. Sad sight though

Could it not still be saved? Or is it a yard that won't sell once it hits the yard?

Its a Pick n Pull. Once a car is in the yard, they refuse to sell it. Against CA law or something.... I've tried a couple times :(

Same with the majority of the yards here in mass. It can be quite frustrating sometimes when you know something good that can be saved is right in front of you and there's nothing you can do.

On the topic, something carter and I talk about regularly is recycling. Everyone preaches it and what not and yet people are dumping good vehicles.

I'd love to know the mindset of those people. I see it all the time. There have been good project cars, old classics, Cameros, even a very solid v8 swapped vega, all tossed and I don't understand how someone could look at it and just say yeah it's junk just toss it for the scrap price.
