the newest addition to the herd......

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a 1996 zj from my oldest daughter.  She bought this truck about 5yrs ago in amazing shape. However she is not the best about vehicle maintenance and care. That left me some odds and ends to take care of upon purchase. Nothing major just some cosmetics and general upkeep. So far I have adjusted\lubed all doors and latches. Heat gun treatment for the lower trim cladding. Vacuumed and cleaned the interior. Changed the dome lights out that were non functional. Replaced the crappy falling headliner. Re attached the interior rearview mirror. Tinted the windows. New wipers all the way around. New shocks all the way around.  Had to change out a boogered up wheel, she had an issue with lugs loosening.  Thanks to her dad's parts hoarding habits I had a matching rim on hand.  New struts for the rear hatch, it came with a broom handle which my daughter received from the previous owner. Lol.

The list of needed parts and things to address are short but still existent. I plan to make a junkyard trip next weekend to see what I can I need some parts for the overhead console and a few small misc clips and screws. I haven't gotten the tittle transferred, so road tests yet but I have driven it in the past and am familiar with the truck. Plans are to put it into service as a backup\winter vehicle for the wife. Sorry for the lack of pictures, there will be more to come. Along with a list of parts needed. Lol

Had to park this one for a few days after losing the paper temp plate. Could have gotten another but have plenty of other stuff to drive. Gave me a chance to replace what I thought was a faulty downstream O2 sensor. Turns out it was an issue with the connector. One pin had pushed out and was corroded badly. Waiting on the permanent plate to arrive and back on the road it will go.
