Rear hitch/bumper bolt size

Hey folks! I took off my rear bumper to put in a Gladiator bumper and rear hitch to get it powder coated... Only issue is I can't find my bumper/hitch bolts, does anyone have any idea what size/pitch they are? I looked around but couldn't find any info on them. Thanks in advance!

there's a big thread about bolts in the link in my signature.  maybe it has them?  don't forget the 5th lower bolt for the bumper bracket.

Curious to see how/if the Gladiator bumper fits with a hitch (bonus points if you have one of Krusty's hitches)

Sweet! I'll have to check that out. Ha! That 5th lower bolt snapped on both sides for me. I gotta drill them out sooner than later I guess lol.

I believe with stock hitch it will work just fine from mockup. IIRC I saw someone working on it with the Krusty's hitches.

you can probably just punch it off.  the nuts are not usually welded on very well.

I replaced all the nuts inside the frame for the bumper as they strip out very easily. Replaced with grade 10.9 flange nuts. Worked very well

So I'm not the only person who wire wheeled the old bolts, torqued them down to factory spec only to find that the nuts in the frame stripped out.

That's true. Wouldn't be the first one punched off on this truck lol

I like that idea, I've been just replacing all the bolts I can anyways so might as well place the nuts too.

If you can’t remove the existing frame nuts easily, you can stack the new nut on top of the old one. Had to do that with my previous MJ as the old ones would not budge but were quite stripped out. Delt with so many broken bumper bolts on that truck. No amount of heat, drilling or hammering would remove them. Finally just set my plasma torch on what was left of the broken bolt like a light saber. Melted through it like butter

Weird. There’s only three tiny tacks holding the nut on. Long punch down the end of the frame and a BFH is all it took for mine.
