Comancheese
I want to get the 6' Chevy Colorado tonneau cover for it, but can't decide which one is better... the tri-fold or the roll-up style. It seems all of them on here show the tri-fold version. Any suggestion on which one is better for ease of use, durability, function, and fit? Thanks! Pete M
what sort of things do you carry in the bed? what sort of daily access do you need? the tri-folds always struck me as more user-friendly for a daily.
Comancheese
Thanks. Mostly want to cover the bed to cover when not in use. I do put chopped wood, pile of mulch in the back during the summer. It seems tri-folds are the first choice on here, but my brother says to get roll-up. So, mmm. I'll probably just get a tri-fold. Thanks Pete.
89 MJ
I had a roll up on mine. I like them better. They take up less space when they’re folded up.
Whitaker717
I am looking at a 6’ roll up. Of course I have a sports bar so mine will have to be modified. I had a roll up in my last truck and that’s all I will ever buy.
Eagle_SX4
I just modified a roll up one to fit my long bed with tool box. I didn't want the trip fold because when opened up you don't have full access to the bed. Or you can't see out the back window. For me I will always pick a roll up over a tri-fold. schardein
I have a tri-fold on my Silverado. For how I use the truck, it's a must have. With that said, I'm getting older, and opening/folding up the pieces is getting harder to do when standing next to the truck. It's easier when I get in the truck, but then climbing up on the tailgate is starting to feel like work as well. If your MJ sits at stock height, which is lower than a newer Silverado, it probably won't be as big a deal. Mine rarely stays all the way folded, blocking the view out the rear glass, so that's not a big deal to me. I recently took it out to have the bed Line-X'ed. That thing is heavy, and I've procrastinated in putting it back in. I don't know how much more user friendly the roll up versions are, but I could see a time when I would switch to one.
