Awesome
Installed new battery, still has issues at a certain RPM when floored in third gear. Starts hesitating and will backfire quietly if I keep the throttle floored. If I back off the throttle and let the RPM climb higher or drop down, then floor it again, it doesn't do it. It's only in a certain RPM range. What causes that?
Awesome
Daughter drove the truck today on the road. Her first time on the street and her first time driving a stick on the road. She did pretty good. Practiced some mild hill starts and some emergency stops. Bunch of low speed driving with some highway driving. She says she much prefers her truck to the TJ that she's been driving up until now. Found out why the brake pedal is a bit spongey and where the leaking fluid is coming from - the drivers rear wheel cylinder is leaking a bunch. Good thing I bought replacements already! Awesome
Got the rear brakes torn apart this afternoon. Had to buy another wheel cylinder because I could only find one of the ones I bought. Discovered the shoes are pretty shot so it's going to be a full brake job. Posted in another thread trying to figure out if I can use the TJ brakes I have that are on a bad axle. Daughter drove her MJ in traffic. She did not do well under pressure and after stalling it about a dozen times trying to pull out of a parking lot, she told me I was driving. Think she may be sitting too far forward and doesn't have enough pedal control.
Awesome
Finished up the brake job today. Didn't take any "after" pictures. But it stops even better now and the brake pedal is no longer soft. Ended up just getting stock replacement shoes instead of trying to fit the newer TJ brakes on it.
