Drahcir495 Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I just looked under my truck and noticed I don't have a front drive shaft? Maybe Its because the D44 front axle I put in had a u-joint a different size on the yolk end?? I really can't remember why or how long its been missing . Probably since I built it up . I have two drive shafts in the corner of the garage but I don't know if they are for the CJ or the Comanche??. Anyone got a picture of one I can compare to mine? If I don't have one, can I take one off a Cherokee and have the correct length?
Drahcir495 Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 Dante2 thank you Cruiser54 - I'm in Wisconsin until the end of the month, so I am not able to measure anything yet. What am I shooting for?
cruiser54 Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Okay. IIRC, CJ driveshaft is small diameter and pretty long. XJ is big diameter like the rear. Does that help?
Drahcir495 Posted May 20, 2023 Author Posted May 20, 2023 That does. I will check out the 2 I have. Thank you
pizzaman09 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I would assume the XJ and MJ have the same front driveshaft.
Drahcir495 Posted June 16, 2023 Author Posted June 16, 2023 I think I found it but it’s rusted and seized up. I forgot it was left outside . Working on getting it freed up and then to work to remove the rust, replacing the U-joints and then painting it.
