After taking my friend for a trail ride in my MJ about a month ago, hes decided that he wants to get one now. I found one in Maine and he will know tomorrow if hes getting it or not.

Decentness, hopefully he knows about our lil corner of the institution over here, and will be signing up as well.

In the words of Pete, did you give him a magnet?

Well believe it or not, he still doesn't have a computer. But if he did, I'd sure tell him to come here. In fact, I've even mentioned it in conversation a few times.

Well he bought it. Thats what it looks like. The seller said that the only rust on the truck is that on the passanger fender. We will see when we pick it up.

I suppose one of these days I should get some cards and magnets....

All anyone ever has to do to get some magnets/cards is send me an address.

I saw that too Pete, but it still looks like a clean body. It will be interesting to hear the rust report.

How much did your friend pay for it, if you don't mind all of us wanting to know?

That MJ in the back comes with it as a parts truck. I'm going to see about getting that one for myself, because my friend has no room for it.

$950 for both. Not horrible if it does turn out to be a rust bucket. I also noticed that the bed/doors don't match the rest of the truck. I wonder if those were rusty, and thats what he used the parts truck for?

wow, $950 seems like a great deal if they run ok and not a rust bucket. we'll be waiting..............

Yeah, its a driver now. The seller's son is using it. He just has too many trucks, and this one has to go.

cool. how about some details, mileage, drivetrain specs, etc. and some interior pics?

i NEVER come across deals like this............

We're going to pick it up after Christmas. He's leaving for Ohio on Friday. We will arrange to get it when he returns. It has about 170k miles, 1987, 4.0, 4x4, standard, CD player. It is a daily driver now..so I guess it runs well. And supposedly, this is its FIRST New Endland winter. jamminz.gif

No idea about the rear axle though. I'm not too worried, because my friend is going to keep it a DD, and do some mild off roading. I'm thinking 3", 31" BFG ATs, and maybe a locker in the rear.

Well we spent the day picking up both MJs. The good MJ is in fantastic shape! The only rust is a small patch of surface rust on the cab corner. Underside looks great! And it has the D44 rear axle, factory front tow hooks, a rear hitch, and a front skid plate. The parts truck is a mess...complete rust bucket. We can use the transmission, and the rear axle though.

All in all it was a great purchase!

If this is the truck's first New England winter, I would strongly advise getting the underside power washed and having the chassis and underside of the box rustproofed.

I'm looking for a cab section... have any plans for that? :brows:
