low voltage to fuel relay
Masscrawler replied to Masscrawler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I will go check that out right now Ok, checked the ground.. I have brighter tail lights now but still low voltage on the pump side. :D jimoshel, When the key is on: terminal 86 has about 2 to 4v not 12v for some reason. It kicks it over to 30 at same voltage. Possibly a bad ECU? I'm guessing the ecu feeds the relay its power? I will go check the power on both sides on the fusable link -
low voltage to fuel relay

Sup all, I'm having a hell of a time with my MJ. This afternoon when I went to go fire it up I didnt hear that fimiliar buzzing from my fuel pump. The MJ had been sitting for a few months so I assumed that it was my fuel pump and proceeded to remove it for a replacement. I went and bench tested and what do you know... fine. Thats what I get for assuming..... anyway I tested the relay and ballast all ok. I turned the key on and get about 2v from slot 87 from the relay. I thought atleast one of the slots would provide a constant 12v but none show. My question is does slot 87 provide the 12v needed when keyed or is it a switch to activate relay. I'm also wondering if the ignintion switch would have something to do with it also. Can anyone shed some light on this for me. Thanks Jeep Peeps

This pic was taken the day of the Full Traction kit. oh and I put on a set of Outlaw II's and BFG 32x11.5s on. They still look a little small on it but I like the lower profile for cornering.

Note to self " If I ever get something shipped by mfpdm not to worry about damage!" Nice job man. A little effort and thought goes along way.

:D I'd consider mounting it to the stock bed without the OEM bedsides. think that could be done? You would be much better off going with their flare sides (ones pictured on Rustys site) if you wanted to go that route, alot less work and you retain the use of the bed and save money on just the flare sides. :brows:
-
I think it was close to 1100-1200 all said and done but I had them shipped. not a bad investment considering Not bad if you can keep it upright and off the trees.:D The fronts mount with very little persuasion, the rears on the other hand take some fab skillz and a few bucks in stock oh then there is the Dzus fasteners "OUCH"

my manche just turned 177,777 miles and its strong as a bull.

They produce a stand alone bedside and a bedside flare that attaches to the factory bedside. Take a look at a few pics of my heep in MJ projects... 88 pre-runner. Its not available for the long bed unfortunately.

here's a pic for ya TNT hope its what you are looking for. I have the FULL TRACTION long arms and Deavers put in and love the setup so far. I have a few pics from the day of install, I'll post them up soon. I have the King Bumps and reinforcing plating then the front is pretty much done. The stock axle is on the truck now taking some abuse but I have a trussed beam to go in....some day.

The boxsides have a 6 inch flare. They are placed in the original locations but stretch out over the tires. I plan to mount the shocks on the 9inch the same way as you mentioned above the springs.
-
The hoop is temporary. it will be replaced when the cage is installed. Another temp install. The 8.8 for my XJ. I have a 9 inch that I'm building up. And hes one pic trying the razorback on for size. I'm still on the fence with this one but I think I may work with the caging. Ill post some info when I have some more time :hateputers:

I have quite abit of progress to post but I wanted to reply to some posts first. BMJ- I realized early on with my planning that this one was going to be my favorite. (and I have a couple early novas) billybob 89eliminator is correct. DirtyComanche- They are the best I've ever planted myself into. even if you are not going to race (work well since they are a suspended seat) the cushion and design contours the body perfectly (in my opinion) They even sell one for big boned people. :D NHscrambler- The only racing around here is tough truck and every weekend with friends. Ive been taking it out on the weekends between building so its been great to see the improvements. I'm building to Jeepspeed Currie Cup (SCORE) specs so thats my ultimate goal. I will be at the two planned tough truck challenges in Vt in 08 and I think there is one being planned in NH but its still in its planning stages. wahoosteeler- PM'ed ya :brows: Some updates. yanked bed installed hoop/shocks installed fiberglass bedsides made some inner bedside "covers" installed a temporary 5th tire holder floor repair  and POR15 and insulation installed a XJ center console e-brake decided to put all my interior back in for the winter.....brrrrrr pics to come!

While railing a few corners to the gas station one of my welds broke on my fab'ed up seat mounts for the buckets I originally installed so I installed the Corbeau baja seats that I just got from Ebag! I hate to say it but if ur weld broke wile u were driving to the gas station u might want to keep practicing on smaller stuff and save the the safety items for the pro. i just don't want anybody getn hurt LOL, ya think..... naw I know thx. I had added some length to the factory sliders and attached the seats temporally while I waited for my baja seats to arrive and with the overhang it was only a matter of time since I was continually readjusting the height in the front. :shake: It was pretty much perfect timing getting my new seats through the mail. I had similar seats in there but they were more suited for a mustang or something along those lines.

You are not kidding, I was wondering how it was going to drive around while I waited for FT to send me the rest of my parts for the LA setup but it handles like it has the biggest sway bar going. you know...since its got ZERO down travel at this point. which leads me to my fix tonight  hehehe While railing a few corners to the gas station one of my welds broke on my fab'ed up seat mounts for the buckets I originally installed so I installed the Corbeau baja seats that I just got from Ebag! Seats installed: oh and I hope so MJ87
