What are these

Couple pics. First pic is piece on side of air box, other end of hose not attached, what is it, where does it go . Second pic is ground wire on firewall, what us this ground for, where are others? Thanks

That is the main ground strap for the engine, goes to a stud on the back of the head.  Definitely follow Cruiser's tips to check over all your electrical system if the truck is new to you.

The first image is the air blend door. Vacuum goes to it to close off fresh air and bring in hot air from the exhaust manifold.

Air blend door? Don't see it on diagram. Is it a vacuum motor

Yea, vacuum motor/air blend door same thing.
