Pete M Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 supposedly the boost gauge doesn't work, but it still looks pretty snazzy on the shelf o' Jeep.
eaglescout526 Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 I think it’s vacuum controlled so I wonder if a vac tester can prove that it works. I also have a speedo needle if you need one for the cluster.
Pete M Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 dunno, I hadn't really thought about double checking the previous owner's methods. maybe someday when I'm bored I'll see about that. maybe I can pop it out and affix it to the dash of the Liberty (pretty sure I'd exceed the boost though, so I'm not going to ever actually hook it up) I appreciate the offer, but the pin is damaged and a needle won't go on (already tried). my plan is to swap out the speedo for a US one after I fix up all my renix clusters and see what's left over.
89 MJ Posted November 13, 2021 Posted November 13, 2021 When you swap the speedo, you ought to set it to zero too. Just to be a little different.
Pete M Posted November 13, 2021 Author Posted November 13, 2021 that might freak people out. I love it
OldSch88L Posted November 14, 2021 Posted November 14, 2021 Got one of those myself! I thought about doing a diesel swap before I got my 2.5 running, so when I saw a diesel XJ at the junkyard, I snatched it. Turns out the 2.5 runs so good (contrary to the P.O.'s saying) that I'm now on the fence as swap goes, and torn between keeping or selling the cluster...
ghetdjc320 Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 That would be the perfect cluster for a nice Cummins 2.8 swap! Hmmm… adding that to the list
