comanche32 Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 The truck starts good will drive just fine going down the road. Everytime you stop it dies. When it does you can smell gas. To get the truck to start again you have to crank and crank and pump the gas. This truck has been doing this since i got it about 10yrs ago. I changed the tps and cps made no difference. I put another computer from a salavage yard in it and that seemed to help. I gave the truck to my dad probably 3 yrs ago. And now the truck is back to its old ways. It will run all day long as long as you don't stop.

comanche32 Posted October 28, 2021 Author Posted October 28, 2021 Yes sir i have around 10 yrs ago when i first got the truck. I will check the intake bolts and do the steps again. I will let you know what i come up with. Any chance it could be the o2 sensor
Ωhm Posted October 28, 2021 Posted October 28, 2021 Check vacuum hose between manifold and Fuel Pressure Regulator (FPR) for fuel. If so, leaky FPR. Also, possible leaky injector(s).

comanche32 Posted November 1, 2021 Author Posted November 1, 2021 I checked all the vaccum lines and hoses they all look good no problems. I did find one hose unplugged and a bolt put in it. here's a pic of it
fiatslug87 Posted November 1, 2021 Posted November 1, 2021 It looks like that's coming off your EGR valve transducer. One end coming off the top of the transducer goes to the EGR valve and the other to part of the vacuum line harness. If you don't have the actual harness I suggest you get it, Cruiser's tips has all the part numbers for it. Look at the end of this post for some pictures of the vacuum harness.
comanche32 Posted November 2, 2021 Author Posted November 2, 2021 Yes i looked closer tonight its supposed to go to the egr valve. Anyone know why they wouldve unhooked that line and stuck a bolt in it

I have to crank and crank and give it gas to start it back up. It will drive down the road fine. Except now ive noticed its starting to hesitate and buck when your going around 40mph sometimes. These problems are sperratic. I drove it sunday and it died 4 times. Yesterday i let it idle for 20 min and it never died. I drove it about 10miles and it only died once I wonder if your EGR valve isn't hung open..... You have cleaned the throttle body and IAC?

fiatslug87 Posted November 3, 2021 Posted November 3, 2021 Have you checked the O2 sensor? Resistance between A&B should be 5-7 ohms. EGR system testing is in this post.
comanche32 Posted November 3, 2021 Author Posted November 3, 2021 I have not checked the 02 sensor. I will test that and the egr valve. Hopefully its one of those 2 things causing the issues. I do know both the 02 and egr are factory parts. I will also check the tps again
