Jlindsey86
Picked up my 1992 MJ last week and have given it more attention it has seen in years. Currently, I am trying to get the windshield wipers working correctly. I replaced the bushings in the linkage and swapped out the wiper motor for a new one. Unfortunately the wipers only move when they are switched to high and even then they struggle. I have since read that the wiper relay could be the problem. After looking under the dash it appears as though I am missing the relay. I have these two loose connections. Anyone able to confirm what they connect to? ghetdjc320
It’s likely the wiper ground that needs to be cleaned up/replaced. Had the same issue on my 91.
JMO413
If your truck has delay wipers it could be the wiper module. Looks like this. It's attached with velcro to the back side of the lower dash trim. It's just below the steering column. If you have one you can plug to two connectors that go to it together.
Jlindsey86
The truck was optioned with intermittent wipers but I am missing the wiper module. Do you happen to have the part number?
JMO413
56000428 was the original post number. It was superseded to 56006957. They are discontinued and no dealers show one. eBay, junk yard, or maybe a user in here are you only options .
Jlindsey86
Thank you for the part numbers! There are several available in the used market. Many of them are labeled as "XJ/YJ only." Will these also work with the MJ platform? Also, pictured below are the connectors under my dash. Do these just plug into the opposing ends of the relay? The pins don't appear as though they would match up to the relay box.
ratrapp
i think the blue connector is one of the diagnostic connectors that chrysler used.

JMO413
The second one is a link to the 88 electrical manual. Down towards the bottom of shows a ton of the connectors.
schardein
The black 8-way connector is for the headlight sentinel system. All XJs/MJs are wired for it, just need to get the delay relay and plug it in to make it function. Part number 56009324 or 56000636.
JMO413
Wiper delay module mounts here on the back side. It's the black box.
