Tow hook brackets (front) in ri

If you have a stock front bumper, those brackets are a great upgrade even if you don't have front tow hooks.  Using these brackets mean you no longer have to use those clip nuts on the front bumper bolts.  Seems I always have one or more of those clip nuts break when I'm removing a front bumper.

I believe that he had to cut out that front crossmember for his hidden winch.

My post is to point out the value of these brackets to other potential buyers.  I have these brackets on both my XJ (without the other tow hook stuff) and MJ (with a full factory tow hook setup).

Gotcha. The dang factory clips that the bolts go through do always seem to break.

Good thing they are GM clips so they can easily be had. I think I still have a box of 20 left from when I bought it to replace my old one s

It's cool that replacements are available, but these brackets are so much better.  When the clip nuts snap when you are trying to remove a bumper, you then have to use a pair of vise grips or channel locks to hold the broken tab with one hand while turning the bolt with the other.  Since the nut for the bumper bolt is welded to this bracket, no backup wrench is needed to hold it for removal.  The first time I saw these brackets, I immediately thought that's how all the XJs/MJs should have came, whether they had the tow hooks or not.

Oh I agree easily they are definitely an upgrade. I was just saying since the bumper still requires two itself for the bottom of the bumper bracket itself.
