What are your plans with it? Super excited to have it! Going to baby it, drive it on the weekends and take it off the road during the winter. I'd like to keep it as close to original as possible, and would eventually like to get a nice paint job. Who knows though, maybe a small 2 or 3" lift with 31s in a few years. I'm debating on replacing the grill and bezels, sideview mirrors and handles with chrome trim to give it that classic look. For now though, just flushing fluids and reading through cruiser's guide! Gotcha I was under the impression it could improve performance albeit *slightly* by removing the cat. Nevermind then I guess I won't worry about it, thanks! Pete M Posted May 24, 2021 Share Posted May 24, 2021 it's a persistent myth that probably stems from guys removing bad/clogged cats and finding a power boost. but the factory designs them to not hamper anything. now, if you added a turbo or stroker, I'd step up to a high-flow cat because then you'd then be exceeding the factory specs for airflow.
