Muncher
So j replaced the switch for Mt lights but still no low beams just high beams. What else should I check to fix this?
Pete M
is the rod pushing on the hi-beam switch on the steering column? it can get out of adjustment. (the lever that you pull on the column pushes on a steel rod that runs down the column to the actual hi-beam switch)
Muncher
well the high beams are the ones that work the low beams are the ones that won't turn on.
eaglescout526
Was this a problem when the original lamps were in? If I remember right, you installed LED's right?

Pete M
when you pull towards you on the turn signal switch, it pushes on a metal rod that runs down the column a few inches to the actual hi-beam/lo-beam switch. does the metal rod move? Muncher
maybe i didnt look good enough but i ddint see anything running off of it besides the one wire in the back of the light switch

Pete M
pulling the turn signal lever towards you push/pulls that rod which then activates the switch. on my 88 I needed to adjust the switch location because the rod had fallen off the switch. Pete M
or in need of adjustment. the nuts on top allow for that. I circled one. you can test the switch by pushing where the arrow is with your finger. should click and change between high and low.

Pete M
the headlight switch turns power to the headlights on/off, it does not select between hi/lo. if your highs are on, the headlight switch should turn them off. so if you can indeed switch the Highs off, the hi/lo switch seems to work ok. next can you confirm that you are indeed getting 12 volts to the low beam wire of the headlight socket? I'd hate for all of this to be caused by both low filaments being burned out by coincidence.

And also I have the led lights in mine nkw but even with the old lights low beams didn't work either.
