This has been the object of my affection for a little while. As soon as I find a clean-ish one within a reasonable distance at a reasonable price I am going to own it.

I had considered making a Chevy Astro into an expedition camper.  It's based off the S10 and probably could have been a decent platform for modification with, I'm sure, some hurdles.

I owned a 1996... I am a GM fan but that van was a nightmare... The Montana I owned was 10 times better and way more reliable. 

 

Ironically I also owned a 1989 S10 once upon a time... Also a horrific vehicle.
