DirtyComanche
After much searching, I found something, and it seems reasonable, but I'll ask if anybody else knows for sure. 92 LWB - 4.0L - 4WD - 3313lbs 90 LWB - 2.5L - 2WD - 2986lbs. Seems reasonable? I think so...

feerocknok
My truck weighs 4050 lbs on 31s... 2.5L, auto, 4wd, lwb... I don't think my tires, stereo, and small (10"x10"x24") toolbox weigh 800 lbs.
DirtyComanche
That's scary, because my 4.0/5spd/4wd with a D44 and 'zu axle and 37s only weighed 4000 with a bit of crap in it...

DirtyComanche
With my deck, which had to weigh as much as a stock box. It was 2x3x.188 HSS (and not a little of it) and 2x6 tounge and groove. Not exactly light. My truck is a SWB though.

feerocknok
2.5/auto/4x4/lwb bench seat stereo with sub spare tire steel wheels larger gas tank (2/3 full) slightly heavier rear bumper no front bumper at that weight drop-in bed liner heavier LCAs, track bar, coils manual windows and doorlocks plexi rear window 40 lbs of tools undercoating hood sound deadenor removed That's all the weight changes I can think of. My buddy rolled on the same scale after me with his '99 4.0/auto/4x4 Cherokee at 3850. I thought all MJs were fat pigs like mine, but maybe I have something wrong. Pete M
Mine weighs a lot. :D Someday (when it's drivable again) I'll putter over to the scrap yard and see. I'm betting that the official curb weight numbers don't take any gasoline into account.
DirtyComanche
Probably not in the US. The european weight includes a driver and half tank of fuel or something...

89mjpioneer
Curb weight is all fluids and full tank of gas. No cargo or passengers. The stock weight is 3072lbs for a 4x4 short box. The 4x4 long box is 3129lbs.
akamcbird
the 86 owners manual states "Curb weight (base vehicle) 3093 lbs" the 90 owners manual states "Curb weight (base vehicle) long box 4x2-2955.2lbs 4x4-3129.9lbs and short box 4x2-2897.6lbs 4x4-3072.3lbs" keep in mind only the lwb was being produced in
comancheap
Really? My uncle owns a SWB Comanche with the 2.8 V6 so I'd always assumed it was an '86. Guess you learn something new every day...

Sure your eyes aren't decieving you? The SWB is only 6" shorter in front of the axle, and 6" behind.
Pete M
With parts from a donor ig, the 2.8L will bolt in place of the 2.5L so it theoretically could been swapped in.
comancheap
Yep it's a SWB, even has the 2.8 tags on it IIRC. This last summer the drivetrain all got swapped out of it, it's got a 4.0 now. I should see him over Thanksgiving, I'll have to ask.

A 4.0 weighs about 525 turnkey, but I don't know what a 2.5L weighs?

cody4359
the 86 owners manual states short box 4x4-3072.3lbs" so is this accurate? I just weighed mine and I'm thinking of shaving some lbs if possible. I came in at 4240 lbs, full 22 gal tank, tools and high lift, no spare tire and without myself. Pete M
3072# is likely the most stripped down model.

I stand by the numbers in the first post, which are for low option/stripper models, but consider nothing to be gospel unless I weighed it myself. Throw your added junk (tools, jack, girlfriend, etc) on a good digital scale and you'll be surprised how fast it adds up. I got sick of the wildly varying numbers I got for the weight of everything under the sun and bought a strain gauge for my hoist.
