Hazard lights don't work when I step on brakes

I'm having an issue with my hazard lights, if I step on the brake pedal while I have the hazard lights on they will stop blinking. I do not have LED bulbs and I have installed new flashers for both the turn signals and hazard lights.

iirc that’s normal ,both my Comanches do that. the brake lights will override the hazard and the hazard indicator will stay lit solid while I’m stepping on the brake and when I let go they go back to normal

yup, that's how it should work when the hazards and brakes share the same filaments

yep normal for safety reasons, can't have you stopping in front of a semi with no brake lights
