Bought 89 Comanche.  No rust anywhere.  108k miles.  4.0 engine.  2wd, 5 speed. Immaculate interior.  I think it's an Eliminator, but not sure what makes it one.  No decals or evidence it had them.  Also is it the Peugot tranny or Asin?

awww... :(  that would indicate a Peugeot (from the factory).  the AX-15 came in on March 10.

you should post up in tech asking if it's an Eliminator.  hopefully somebody will spot something that wasn't available on a well optioned Pioneer.  :dunno:  Either way it's a sweet truck! :L:

The parts manuals actually decode each digit of the VIN better than the digital parts catalogue program. I don't have an 89 catalogue but JMO has them and get tell which VIN means what.

It is an Eliminator. 6th digit is a 6.

From the paper parts catalog.

excellent :D  I was thinking the body colored parts and the silver strip on the rubber side trim would indicate that, but the rims were throwing me for a loop.  The truck would have come with the 10 hole rims from the factory.

also your grille is upside down. :L:

That's great info!! Thanks a lot. Except for the added AC, this Jeep is exactly like the one my Dad had when I was learning how drive. That's why I bought it. It was an Eliminator but with different rims. Gonna double check the tranny as I have found out the slight visual differences. However I'm currently out of state, so it will be a bit before I can do that. It's just as fun to drive now as it was 30 years ago.
