edit:  We are now set for Sunday Oct 13th at Disney Springs at either Jock Lindsey's or The BoatHouse (they are right next to each other).  :nutherround:  Be sure to plug the Lime garage (parking is free) into your GPS if you are unfamiliar with the area.  There are paper maps of Disney Springs available as you exit the garage and enter the "town".

If anyone is bringing their MJ, my thought was to all park on the roof of the Lime garage so there's a hope of the trucks being close to each other.  :comanche:

I wanted to start an official thread to gather up the thoughts on what to do and when to do it.  I'll be in Disney World this week (show up monday, leave on saturday) so I was thinking we could maybe meet up at Disney Springs one evening?  The evening of the 16th is unavailable for me (got a DVC party that night at Typhoon Lagoon).

I'm in for whatever, but won't have any wheels to get around in.  Wherever we meet up would need to be cab-able/uber-able from Caribbean Beach property (just south of Epcot).  I think we're there Sunday-Thursday.

I don't think we figured that out yet.  I know, rookie mistake.  Our main focus is going to be Epcot, because of the Food and Wine festival.  We do want to see the new Star Wars section, and go to Animal Kingdom (we didn't get there last year).  Plus I think we're going to take one day and just stay on the hotel property....last year we stayed at Riverside and there was alot of stuff to do on property but we didn't do any of it because we were so fixated on getting into the different parks.

:beerbang::banana::applause:I wanted to get one of these  CC PowWows for as long as I have been a member here. It’s my fiancé birthday week, so I need to plan a special time for her around this. I would be driving up in the Cherokee, so I would have room for several passengers. I will be sure to set the date that we come up with in stone! This will be the highlight of my month.

Hey guys, I do hope I can meet up with you but unfortunately it will be difficult. I am a musician and have a weekly gig every Wednesday evening up in Sanford and then we as a family will be out of town for a few days from Thursday the 17th until Sunday evening. The best day and time for me would be either Sat the 12th or Sun the 13th. I also could make Sun the 20th work if it is later in the evening. So sorry that my schedule doesn't help, hope to meet you guys sometime that week though!

I confirmed with my wife that we are coming down on Sunday and leaving on Friday.  We should be in town early afternoon, and we can make plans for Disney Springs that night, I think........let me check with her to make sure she doesn't have something already planned for that first night, lol.

Sorry Pete, I can and will make it on the 13th, didn't respond because you were asking who couldn't make it. Looking forward to meeting you and hopefully several other CC members.

Thanks for getting the word out and let me know if I can do anything or bring anything since I am probably the closest local.

Buck.

thanks Buck. :L:

also we need to figure out where we're meeting.  I picked the Springs since it's free to park for locals, has bus transport for Jeff, and has a bazillion things to do.  But what to do?  restaurant?  bar?  bowling?  do we want a place that serves dinner?  or just snacks?

I just got this post. I will confirm that Sunday the 13th is good and get back to you tonight. As for where to go, I am not familiar with that area.

Disney World in general or Disney Springs in particular?

So now the business of specifically where to meet.  Disney Springs has a TON of different things to contemplate.  how about Jock Lindsey's Hanger bar?  It's got food and drinks, super cool decor, I don't remember it being all that loud.  Maybe we can get spots in the outside boat! :D  (it's fully attached to land, not a floating thing)

I defer to the locals and more experienced travelers to the area.  We've only been there once, and took buses and/or cabs everywhere we went.  Y'all figure out the where, and me and missus mjeff (Missi) will be there, lol.

I just got my head shaved again, seeing as how summer just won't let go around here, and we're gonna be in FL in 14 days.

the bus to Disney Springs picks you up right from the hotel. :L:  Everyone else should aim for the Lime parking garage as it's the closest.   For anyone that doesn't already know, Jock Lindsey is the pilot that saves Indiana Jones at the beginning of Raiders of the lost ark.

there are practically infinite choices for food in Disney Springs, but a nearby option is The BoatHouse which is right next door and has a much bigger menu but is kinda pricey (I think it's $18 for a burger).  I do like their dockside bar which is out on the water but still lets you order the same food.  I've got no idea how busy any of these places will be on a random Sunday evening.  Not sure which should be higher on the priorities list, "food options" or "quiet setting".  Some of the restaurants can get quite noisy around mealtime so I'm trying to avoid those.  :dunno:
