89 MJ
Last Friday (April 19th) I bought a 4:10 D35 with an LSD, a D30 with gears to match, factory power mirrors, side marker lights, a 5in lift, and sway bar disconnects from a family friend who was parting out an 1986 XJ Chief. I will be keeping everything except the rear axle. The lift is for a Cherokee, but I will combine the two in order to get the lift I want. PM me for details about the rear end if you are interested. I just bought that axle for the leaf springs. However, I have had drums sandblasted in the bast and it works fine.

Pete M
take that list with a grain of salt. Chrysler reused codes over the years. I seriously doubt your truck had a nickle metal hydride battery or a hood lock.

89 MJ
Just picked up a rust free tailgate for $100. I live in the rust belt so this is kind of a big deal for me.

89 MJ
Just pulled it back inside to work on it again since schools is out and the ground is dry. I started pulling the bench to check the floors. I can see a couple of rust sports form the underside though. Hopefully it is not very rusty. Sorry no pics, but I’m sure many of you have done this before too, so you know what it looks like. I’ll get pics once I get the carpet pulled. 89 MJ
Pulled up the carpet. Not bad for a Wisconsin truck. I will start patching the floors soon. Passenger side Driver side I also ordered a weld-yourself front bumper for $165 on Amazon. I’ll let you all know what I think of it when I get it built. I took the grille off and turned it the correct way only to take it back off to take the grille and header panel off to get the front fender off so I can repair the floor and rocker and prep for paint. 89 MJ
I got the rocker, cab corner, and floors cut out, sandblasted, and primed and ready for reinstallation. The floors will get POR 15 on them. Some pics are of the front end torn off, others are of the rocker/cab corner removal and of the floors.
