rylee144 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 I have a nasty old tailgate with a working handle and hinges. Is it worth my time to take them off before the tailgate goes away?

eaglescout526 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Put the handle in a bucket of vinegar and wire brush the crud off. I did that and it worked great.
Dzimm Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 How bad could the tailgate be? Beat up Jeep tailgates make great wall art. Been looking for one myself but don't want to pay to ship. Clean up the handle and hinges someone would want them.
rylee144 Posted February 23, 2019 Author Posted February 23, 2019 The tailgate face separated from the back. The back and front are dented and the top. won't close either. I'm using the face for a project. Didn't want to toss the handle and hinges if they were even a little rare. The torque bolts are in snug and I'll have to heat them up. I already stripped the bit.
