jeeppapa
Have an 88 eliminator going to repaint the bumpers in silver back to stock color. Anyone done this if so what paint would you recommend? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gjeep
I wouldn't paint. I'd have it powder coated if you really want it to last.

If I was going to keep it that would be the way to go, but I just don’t want to put the money into it. Good suggestion thou. 91Pioneer
Satin black Rustoleum https://amzn.to/2RCf6P8 or similar
Dzimm
For cheap yeah just go Rustoleum. I'd recommend rattle can it unless you have the equipment to properly spray it on. Do proper prep and primer and the paint will last a good while.
SVPete
I used Rustoleum semi-gloss black on the front end (did the back bumper too). Took the bumper off, sanded it, and rattle-canned it in my car port.

jeeppapa
this makes you a rattle can pro: I like it going to get one. My truck still has the original silver Eliminator bumpers on it. The truck is black so I’m going to stick with silver. I’m going to sell it so it’s going to be advertised as an Eliminator and it need to look like one. According to what I’ve read all Eliminators came out with silver bumpers. If anyone finds different info please tell me. My truck came without a rear bumper I'm pretty sure. I've seen them in black as well as the tube style bumper on Eliminators. It probably depends on how it was ordered, back then there were seemingly limitless options you could order.

Ya it’s silver not chrome. I’m sure some guys didn’t like the silver and changed before the took them home. jeeppapa
https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/mus/2006/01/Jeep-Comanche-Eliminator/1281056.htmlThis is the article I got the info from. Give it a read it has allot of good info on our trucks. They came out in 88 and in 91 they were offered in 4x4. It was a 2,929 dollar package.
